Brian, have you seen this video of my 9XR Pro? This is with the frsky module, and Kevin modified the radio for me, installing an extra three-position switch and completely programming it for me. What board are you going to run and what tank? I've been trying to set up my Flysky i10 on my own, and I'm even having a bit of success. My Jagdtiger runs on that and it even has the servo operated MG34.

You have a great radio there and you're gonna have loads of fun with it.

I also have a regular Turnigy 9X, loaded with tankER9X firmware, and that's a real classic. My Tammy compatible Tiger One is on that transmitter, and it's rock solid.

Yep it was Keven that told me they don't do the 9XR PRO centering lever and you have to change the whole gimbal. Brian...
I did not know that, so thanks for the info. I got the one for my regular 9X from Kevin, but the 9XR Pro was all set up when i bought it from him. I just got my flysky i10 and my turnigy TGY-i6 self centered on both sticks, so I got to know the flysky gimbals rather intimately. I'll be interested to see if you can take parts from the gimbal you're about to remove to self center yet another gimbal. I lucked out and was able to do that with the flysky.

Oh yeah, I also taught myself to make a self center lever for the Hobby King HK6S (a decent low cost TX) so if you ever need that info let me know. I wonder if Ausf could copy self center levers with his 3D printer? Would there be copyright issues? Hmmm

Hi All,
Well got the tank firmware on (ersky9xr_rom_r212.bin) is this correct it dose not have tank in front of the er?.I'd like to ask a few questions,1/ when I checked the firmware was there and the number was correct I pushed menu and on it went. Now when I loaded the firmware from the site I saw all the folders on the SD card. Should I be able to see them on the boot screen of the radio? 2/followed the instructions to add the firmware now I put the stick in the centre and still getting the warning. So any guide as to how to set it up would be most gratefully accepted. And believe me I do need some help here. Brian...

Hi Max,
I should have an extra centering lever over plus Spring. But as yet I don't know how long the new gimbal will take to get here?. As you can see I need some help with the setting up. Brian...

I'll try to help where I can but I'm no expert. I think Paul (Scalawag) is our resident 9X guru?

You should be able to remove the lever and spring from the gimbal you take out, so keep that in a safe place for your next 9X series radio.

Hi Max,
When the new gimbal gets here it will be a complete unit so it's just a case of screwing it in and putting the two plugs in. I will strip down the old gimbal and keep the spring and lever. But at the moment I need help with the set up. See my post above. Brian...

I'd have to ask Kevin to be sure but I believe my 9XR Pro has tankER9X, and I know for sure my regular 9X has that because I flashed it myself. There's probably a newer version since I did mine but it still runs the same tank and runs great so if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? There are a lot of firmware similarities between the two radios and that's what makes me think I have tankER9X on both.

I wonder if there's a tankER9XR maybe?

What tank and board are you going to use?

I think I'd ask about this one at the RCTA Forum.

Well at the moment I would like the IBU2 PRO. But if I can't get the new radio up and running it all seams a waste of time and money. I can't seam to get many answers about the radio so getting very despondent. I think it'll all end up in the bin at this rate :( . Brian...

Hi Brian
ersky9xr_rom_r12.bin is the standard firmware the radio comes with (just checked mine).

Your looking for the firmware tankersky9xr_1306.bin (the rc tanks Australia link I sent you)
You will know when it's loaded because the screen will have a tank picture and the word commander next to it.see the attached pics
I still get the throttle high warning when I switch on but I haven't had time to play with it yet.

Hi del
I think what I've done is I have downloaded it but didn't put it in the firmware folder  .
(Absolutely stupid.) I had to do it in an Internet cafe no one in the family has a windows computer. So I'll have to go back up there and check it's there and move it to the right folder!!!. I knew something wasn't right. I can't check on the radio if it's there!!!. Thanks Del for putting me straight. As I said I'm very close to throwing the dam radio up the end of the garden. Brian...
