Update:
Now I have the rear drive sprocket made I turned my attention to the rear road wheels and rear suspension units. For springs I went to my local dollar store and picked up 8 dart guns and removed the springs from them. The metal rods are just coathanger wire with the nuts from old video and audio card soldered on the ends. When finished a nut will be soldered to the opposite ends as well. Here are a couple pics of the 2 suspension units. One assembled and one just the componants. When these are finished I will move onto the front units

Update:
Work continues. Here I have made the front road wheel suspension system, and temporarily mounted the track and suspension parts to the hull.

Looking good 8) And I mean really good! ;D ;D ;D ;D

The only concern I can see is maintaining track tension - you might want to take a few links out there ???
Testing will tell tho :-\ You might be the first to make a R/C 1/6th Universal Carrier - thats gotta be something to be proud of for sure!

Keep on pluging away ;D

Actually I'm not the first I think there is a guy in England who has an rc carrier and it's for sale but it may be a static one and he's asking 650US for it. with no rivit detail etc on it. One of the guys from the Ottawa 1/6th club I belong to builds static ones from pink foam for diorama setups.

Well curiousity got the best of me and just had to see how the carrier ran on rc so I used the spare radio gear for an HL rc tank. I added my regiments marching song called I'm Ninety-Five. For the first test run it doesn't run too bad. Here's the video.
PS you will see one good reason for doing up the chin strap on your helmet.... LOL

That is Awesome, does it turn ok? would love to have a go at one of these but dont have the molding capabilities that you have.
the movement of the vehicle just screams realism.
