P2M,
Weird about the tracks but cool on the book and diecast model. Another book you should look at ( if you haven't already ) is in the Stackpole series: The Combat History of German Heavy Anti-Tank Unit 653 in World War II, by Munch.

Looks great.

I've been thinking of getting one of these but I've been putting it off as I have already got a stack of projects to do. I think watching this build may convince me to hit the buy button.

I will be watching this build. I also have bought a Hooben elefant, I'll start the build as soon as I finish my Jagdtiger.
What MFU are you going to use ?

Ad Lav,
Also a practice that has garnered me a few, neat little pieces of desk art after their build was complete. ;o) A win all the way around. Woz, definitely time now. I keep hearing rumors that Taigen Torro have an Elefant in the works but who knows when?

ra272,
Hello and welcome to the Hooben area of the tank park. I have waited to get one of these for some years now so I am going to get the best MFU that I know of, the IBU 2 or 3. I initially was going to get the MFU that came from Hooben\Arc for this amazing kit but I have heard that it was 'interesting' when it came to adding extra functions. As I want a convoy light and headlamps and a working MG, the IBU series is the way to go. I'll be following your build and P2M's along as well. ;o)

I allready have bought an IBU2 for mine, I'ts a really good MFU for panzer jäger. The sound is really good and It's easy to set three servos for traverse elevation and recoil.

I don't have the aluminium gun in mine (bought it from Licmas Trading House in a 30% off sale), can you please check if it is possible to install a flash light in it ? (is the hole diametre big enough ?)

Good morning,
You can set a xenon flash in the barrel since the muzzle brake is a separate unit. You will just feed the wiring muzzle first down to the breech end of the barrel and install the brake over the flash bulb.

Thank you, do you know if there is a metal muzzle brake that fit the aluminium barrel?

ra272,
I have not seen one yet in my ramblings around the parts sites. Would not be surprised if there was one. The Elefant is a desirable kit. I need to open my parts bags and see what the muzzle brake in the kit looks like. It is a separate piece in it's own plastic bag.

You should be able to fit an 88mm L71 muzzle brake should you not?
