Good thought DRC. If I remember correctly we were trying to Identify the Army Air Corp field,
I wonder could it be Topcliffe? because the Army Air Corp centre at Middle Wallop seems too obvious.
Although if you had included a Skeeter or an Auster or a Beaver and possably the best light Helicopter the AAC ever had the Sud Aviation Alluette 2, I would have bet it was Middle Wallop.
Shaun.

Lol, most are taken around Salisbury Plain, aircraft are generally from Middle Wallop, Odiham, Benson, Yeovikton & Boscombe down, if there's not much in the way of armour around there's always helis around

Take it where you like mate !!
I can relate to both barriers to communication, been to Oklahoma, West Virginia, Texas, and South Carolina("Southern by the grace of God" !) as well as areas of London, plus had all the English tradesmen in New Zealand from every corner of the Empries Homelands !!

Scouses, and Scotsmen................figure that lot out and you are doing well when they have a load on and are trying to make a point :/ :/

Most of the places I went in the U.S. was for work.............and let me tell 'y'all', they dont drill in the South Of France, or Monaco.
They dont make drilling rigs in New Hampshire , and the jokers that work on them aint heard of Harvard :haha:
So me having a New Zealand/Australian accent, and a godless boozing attitude, and one that loves guns(real ones), Ive spent many hours trying to translate in some pretty "interesting" places that was overcome by simple actions !!
One of the funniest encounters was in a Taxi in Philadelphia outside the airport.
Driver was Indian, picked my accent and desperately asked for any news of any nature to do with Cricket !!!
Poor bugger hadnt talked to anyone there about cricket for ages I can tell ya.Gave me the ride for free

Its great to travel & have exposure to all sorts, builds character and tests you..............

Yorkshire, dont they all talk like Pirates ??!!(ooh-argh, ooh-argh !!) :shifty:

For anyone who hasn't seen it, I'd recommend the 'Four Candles 'comedy sketch by the Two Ronnies, you can easily find it on YouTube.

Yip, an all time classic.
Shame Mr Corbett passed recently.

On the cricket thing, I had a session in a sports bar in Oklahoma with a group of service hands..........(wireliners, cementers, etc)
Punching chicken wings at a hundred miles an hour, and they free poured spirits :wtf:
One joker says to me "how in the hell can two teams play a game for a god -damned week and get NO RESULT ?? ":O

To that I had no answer except to ask "how in the hell can two teams make the "World Series" final when you guys are the only ones that have teams in it !!!!!!!

Dont even start me on this thing they have here called Aussie Rules...................I swear they call it that because no one else in the world can understand the game let alone the rules

Thank Christ for Rugby Union ;) :D

I used to play wing three quarter for Scunthorpe Colts years ago. Could go a whole game without ever touching the ball.

My experience of school rugby had me doing my best to avoid touching the ball. :haha: :haha:
And my first Army Cricket match had me "catch" a very fast bouncer in the mouth which pushed a tooth through my lip but gave me the pleasure of bleeding over the interior of the Regimental Sergeant Majors new car on the way to the medical centre.

Herman, my man, pleased to see we both agree about Rugby Union.

Unfortunately, I bet we dont agree on our teams - for me it has been and always will be the boys in the Red shirts.

Cheers
