Now that it is fixed, i am going to start looking in to some upgrades.thinking about metal tracks and some metal gears.

A pair of 3/1 metal gearboxes will make it run much smoother without to much of a speed loss and much greater slow speed maneuvering ability. Metal tracks are expensive and prone to stretching if run a lot so you may have to consider getting a track tension adjuster at the same time.
