It's actually a Sturmgewehr 57 (Otherwise the 7.5 mm SiG 510)...an automatic rifle introduced by the Swiss in, as the name suggests -1957. It's quite heavy, packs a punch; more like a real battle rifle, in fact, than an M16 assault type... and does resemble WW2 MG42s..You'd have to be pretty fit to cart this beast up and down the Alps, and that's probably why the swiss also attached a bipod to it...You wouldn't be firing this from the Hip John Wayne..the hell you wouldn't
It was replaced in 1990 by the lighter SiG 550 (part of which also appears in the tableau..)..
The tableau was created as part of an e-card I sent to a gun-nut friend, wishing him 'Merry ballistic Christmas'...but I did enjoy shaping the Artist's mannequins and wooden hand.. Here's a 1/6 scale mannequin I found online..it might have tank applications if dressed up with plasto and Action Man gear! ; but I tip my hat to your nymphette
creating skills. Could you manage a full- size, living, witty, educated one..with a good singing voice? If so, PM me.
