OH, Martyn, I am hoping I am wrong but the work you have put into those exhaust shrouds appear to be missing the locating plates which hold the shrouds in place, although the design is top class, I am hoping you are going to solder the locating plates in place, By the way the exhaust pipes on the early Tiger did not have the top covers on them,
Anyway a bit of better news, if you go to

They have for sale "K" Parts Sprue number 0113024 which has the early 4 pot feifal air cleaners and the early flat main gun mantlet amongst other things, This sprue is a real rarity, indeed I had to wait for 3 weeks when I wanted one.
Don't worry about the speed of your build I still keep finding things that need doing and this has to be year four or five.

I cut the tops off mine and made new tops with round plastic, took some work but happy with the results.


Enjoying following your build

Long time, no post, but there has being a small amount of 'progress' (If you can call it that)

First off I tried to make the old style filters like 'markocaster' has done, but I kept on getting no way, very, very fast, but eventually, after many choice descriptive nouns, I found the famous Tamiya sprue for sale on a well known bid site, and in the end this is what I have ended up with



Drilled the 'exhaust pipes' and fitted some plastic rod to allow some movement so they can be lined up with the flex hose I am gonna use to connect to the air inlet manifold.



Filters painted and fitted to the rear bulkhead. they are in a darker shade at the moment in preparation for final shading when I get round to the final finishing. Jack also fitted with slightly modified/home made clamps. New outlet covers on the exhausts to be made.

Tops of the exhausts chopped of and flaps fitted.



And exhaust shields fitted.

Martyn I love the work you are doing, Having been there already I know just how much sweat and bad language is involved,
When I finally finished my early Tunisian Tiger (813) I belatedly discovered that the early turrets did not have an escape hatch but where it was fitted in its stead was a second pistol port,
Like the man said "Its all in the detail dear boy"
