Don't ask me why....I guess I enjoy torturing myself....In my mind....I think I am saving myself the pain of building the kit itself...but the reality that becomes all apparent is that buying them built...is just as much trouble....as for some reason most of the builders have one thing in common....I don't think they read the instructions at all....think some may not even check the pictures for reference...this one isn't too bad though...still had some bogie work ....this time mostly because of the rubber band tracks ...the guy did a not bad job...one chain loop went awol during shipping...and I lost the turret light lol

Spent a few hours getting it back up to my Standards..Main gun needed to be flipped...all the stowage needed to be peeled off...points repaired ...small details replaced..sprockets and idlers straightened out ...it was a job to be done...but definitely not the headache that the Firefly was
This guy had some experience under his/her belt...as for the most part the tank was in pretty good shape...don't think it saved me time or money though lol

Afraid not WO1c ....seems if there is a challenge....that challenge must be met
I am getting better at examining the photos provided though....even if the auctions say "pro" built....as I find the general rule of thumb is...they are being sold for a reason lol....In this case...the reason was for the builder to get more money so he/she could buy more models...as it does seem the basic skill is there....just the attention to doing a more "complete" job done is not
The reason for the other two would be similar....the main exception being that they had no interest in getting better at building a great model...but just slapping it together as fast as they could
Me buying them is to either feed that charity....or indulge my gluttony for pain

You have provided a crash course in sniper buying a Lemon and then investing in a model which looks like strawberry jam , Education 101 .
Just true grit ALPHA and this includes the sticky glue fingers incident to demonstrate to the masses the ability to show pain in refitting a mess and then to sniper a easy option which requires a little spit and elbow grease .

Indeed so Kiaser....more elbow grease than anticipated...and not to much sniping....most of these were "buys it nows" ...with the exception of the Porsche Tiger.....apparently that one is hard to find even as a kit...The Matilda turned out good...no pictures yet...as I still had some small details to fabricate and replace..but hopefully soon there will be a nice portion of lemonade for all to partake

Yup everything is good now....didn't break out the airbrush for any of these...too small of a scale ...Still no brush stokes left ...tank is nice straight and tidy

PS. Kept the figure..the guy did a not bad paint job on it...but he's not necessary for the purpose of this tank ...also left the mirror off the front fender as it would be open to be broken off...a very vulnerable spot during handling

A very nice job there! Matildas are famous tanks indeed. Did the Show version have the front mirrors added in the animations? They are sort of a hallmark of British armor.

Yes Painless if you watch the video above...at the 6:20 plus mark there is good footage of the Matilda ...and the single mirror on the right fender is there....I did drill a new mounting point for one...but at the rate I knock little pieces off these 1/35 scale models....I figured I better stay away from putting one on lol...that's how I lost the turret light...it is mounted on the cupola...it was loose when it arrived...even though I thought I glued it in good enough.. it got knocked off ...don't know why...but even after sweeping the area...moving a bunch of stuff around ...then inspecting the ground and what was in the dust pan...I could never locate it a couple other parts went missing...one of the lift things on the back by the engine compartment and one latch hold down under the rear fuel tank...lost that one because I was too anal to see it glued there crooked ...broke that off ok...but when I tried to replace it ,,,it flew out of my tweezers...heard it hit the ceiling ...never figured out where it landed ...so fabricated a new one lol

PS. If you look at the cupola ...you wil notice it's a little off...left it that way because the guy used good glue and I couldn't knock it off
