I neglected to add as another important tool...COMMON SENSE...It helps you avoid certain situations...and at times injury ....but not everyone has that...so it's probably moot to mention lol

Brigadier perhaps with your advancing years and failing eyesight a seeing eye dog might be useful and it would be able to lead you to high ground with the Tsunami imminent.
Seriously using the combination of the DrAper ratchet and the large Tamiya Pin vise has altered my attitude to drilling plastic.
I had need to drill a countersunk hole into one of the fuel filler caps on the upper body of a Tiger 1 so that the screw I wanted to use as a cap for my TARR 11 smoker would lie flush as the other moulded ones did.
Using a Dremmel would have ruined the top of the Tank body but using the oversize pin vise changed everything.

Am I the only one that can't live without my dental pick? Snaking wires, retrieving dropped stuff, even pushing jst plugs into place in tight quarters. I must have five different picks in different types, and I even have one I use just for popping out track pins when I take off the tracks.
I like the sheet of glass trick, too, and I have one on my bench. Doesn't matter what I spill on there, one of those razor blade scrapers will take it right off, and I like to push instructions under the glass so I can read them without having to worry about spilling anything on them.

Nah...I am one of the gifted...have good Common Sense Wo1c.

...Knock on wood...not worried about the Tsunami....though the media panics...and does their best to induce more panic in the General Population...those in the know...know Tsunami's that visit are nothing but a tiny wave...the last one that hit caused a two inch swell....Heck we get bigger surf than that in the winter
On the other side of the coin....I live on a hill...so let the lowlanders worry...me ...I'll just watch and stay off the roads

The one thing about manufactured Tools...is everyone has their own devices....preference....is the key word I would say....I have a no name pin vise with a swivel top...the top is made to butt up against my hand so I can put pressure on it while drilling....don't quite like the Tamiya design...many copies of it are out there....got three copies that I don't use at all...kept the drill bits that came with them but that's about it lol....what I don't like is if you don't put it in a drill....they are terrible...as you cannot put pressure on it to drill....it does act as a good secondary chuck for really tiny bits....but for me it's just more work to pull out my B&D or Craftsman Drill to chuck it up...not saying mine is the best way...it's just very convenient

I totally agree with you about the TAMIYA grip which is why I use the shaft and chuck in the Draper ratchet which allows me to put pressure on the drill bit whilst turning it.

Now....I need to see some pictures of that phantom Tiger

...camo it with flowers if you like...but dang ....One picture...it's not going to kill you lol
Keep on Keeping on Wo1c Shaun

I like this. Good saying. I have a similar saying, but a tad more crudely put, "If it ain't broke ... don't fix it".
And then there's the other school of thought - "I can fix it! Even if it ain't broke ... I can fix it!"
But seriously, the Waldron Punch Set is what I consider an essential tool.

Yup ...it's a twist on that lol....that other school of thought ...usually will cause more work than is really needed

...but on the flipside...could also lead to an improvement
