I am sure we could work out a good deal between us if you wanted the 2.4 systems I have ALPHA, and of course whoever I sell them to will get a good deal on them. Never used, I took them straight from the tanks so as new.
I'm sure we could....would like to see someone who can really benefit from them first ...than snapping them up for myself though...I have a few Gen2 units to install...but if the member who is doing his first build shows no interest...well I'll happily wait
Anyway, yes the tracks. I have not had much chance to try them out yet, as Iam in the middle now of doing a set for the Leopard 2A6 I also have now. They run ok on my laminate floors, and I think will be ok on short grass. For long grass and concrete I have kept the all metal tracks that came with the tank. I am not sure how much damage they would pick up from rough surfaces they seem pretty robust.

A bit of damage could look authentic though   :D . 2A6 tracks new on the left and used on the right.

That looks beyond damaged...looks like it's ready for replacement and re vulcanizing 8O

scalawag the race almost looks like a black chrome finish would, appearing silver shiny or black depending on the angle it is looked at. I couldn't duplicate the shine needed to get that effect so I just went with a home made dark flat silver. If yours is closer to the metallic black chrome look I wouldn't change it

That's the effect I went for Alpha, a black chrome plating is the only way is the only way I could think of to describe it. But I did mine by doing a dark metallic silvery color and then painting over it with some high gloss acrylic clear paint to give it some shine. Considered using the super thin chrome tape they sell for cars but since it not dark and my gun mount trolley is movable I figured it would get scraped off.

I kept in mind a crew that is well disciplined...that's how they would keep it as it would be bad for that gun mount to freeze up should they need it....I do imagine a crew might black it out with shaker can black or grease if they did not have air superiority in an specific area...but now days...that's pretty unlikely ;)
So yes...my ring shines like chrome :haha: :haha:

Lovely build Paul, I have yet to own an Abrams but I was wondering if sleeving the suspension with thin section brass tube using a smaller screw would stop the plastic from failing? Just a thought o- shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Oh yes they were clearly visible 8O . they were all around the top half of the little plastic sleeve which the swing arm screw is screwed into and protrudes from inside the hull. Some where right on the top of the sleeve and others where a little off to one side or the other. All ran straight from the side of the hull to the inner edge of the sleeves. They varied from a white line of weakened plastic to a full crack. Definitely a weakness there when using the heavier metal running gear.

Sorry I should have thought to take some pics before I strengthened everything up. :/

Easily fixed though, and I would definitely recommend strengthening these areas as a precaution for anyone buying the M1 in the future.
I wonder if it's from handling or running...have already put about t0 hours on mine and the hull has shown nothing so far...knock on wood lol...It is a big hull...ATC uses magnets to hold his...forgot what you said you used...but Giant and I use the stock mounting system with the screws....could that be a factor as well...because one thing I know about Heng Longs...those mounting point are also important "stress" points ...and are there to prevent flex ;)
