Lots of art and some b/w pictures from the BoB show white wash on some AFV's and some thin skin stuff on both sides but agian this group of King Tigers under Pieper is what Im focued on.
I think Im going to do this 334 tank. The drawing looks good but if you look at the real pics below you can see the "4" on the 334 is wrong. Which I would think the decal maker in Germany would have noticed...
Here are some shots of the real one. Hard to say about the about the white wash...

To be honest the more I looked into it, the less and less I trust the images used by even people that make decals and even the models themselves.

Good spot on the 4!!!
Maybe if you emailed the manufacturer they would correct it?

Make your own stencil with the correct #4.

By the way, if you want to see King Tigers with whitewash, look for images of 509 heavy tank battalion. I'm pretty sure they were the only unit that actually whitewashed their Tiger IIs as standard.

If you look at all the black and white photo's very few of the Zimmerit coated KT's reached La Gleize where 501 was forced to abandon its mounts due to lack of fuel.

Yes, none of these had Zimmerit. Here is a shot of 204, it ran out of gas and was abandoned, the Americas tried to recover it but it broke down on the way and was abandoned for a second time and was left in a field for around 10 years before being sold for scrap
We can clearly see the front has white wash but I dont know how common it was.

It didn't have many zimmerit coated tanks and to lose. Most of the tanks they had were delivered new at the start of December.
