Spent a little bit of time at the workbench during lunch time today (I worked from home so it is always a temptation). I mounted it on the hull and try moving the hull around and see what happens. When I do that the servo is turning in the same direction as the hull so if that's the correct way of mounting it then I need to reverse the GA-250. Secondly, the sensitivity is a little off so I will need to figure out how to adjust that on the GA-250.

The question for everyone is, should the GA-250 be on the turret or be on the hull ? I know Kevin has it on the turret, but I am not too sure. The standard installation on heli is that it would be installed on the hull, and it will adjust the rudder as the hull changes direction I think...... (Not a heli guy so no clue what I am talking about here).

Will spend more time this evening and play with this some more.

I also found mounted in the hull worked better. But I didn't manage to understand the instructions on how to change the settings to help calibrate.

Are you using a converted servo or 360 degree servo?

Ian, I am using a 360 servo. I am going try to get into the configuration and see if I can make some changes. The only thing I don't understand is why we need to match the servo and all the heli mumbo jumbo but I will just use the default for now and see what happens.

Yeah same I using a robotic 360 servo but data sheet didn't mention anything the gyro instruction where asking for so used stock settings which kind of worked.

I think with 360 servos need to apply a neutral stick position for it to stop but I'm not certain if the gyro does that as I found mine would creep slowly rather than keep still. Then some times the gyro must of got confused as the turret would turn and not stop, maybe all down to difference between gyro and servo but I didn't get any further.

That's what was happening before I started last night. Made a huge progress and actually got into the configuration setting so fix the direction. Starting to look at the limits to try to fix the slow creep and the non-stop. I assume it is the high/low limits of the gyro. Took me a while to get into config mode. Just in case you want to give it a go, you need to set-up a switch that has FULL (Not HALF) weight setting and it has to be from -100 to +100 so that you can switch from RATE to AVCS to toggle the config mode (Okay now I sound like a heli guy).

Also found out that it is suppose to be for digital servo only, but I have been testing it with my HiTec HSR-1425CR which is an analogue continuous servo. I don't know if this is what is causing the creep and the non-stopping, but from other forum it appears that once you set it up with a digital servo it will work fine with analogue servos. I am keeping this at the back of my mind as a potential issue.

Thanks Nut....... That is still too much info for us tank guys. I am still hoping for a simpler solution.

Another progress update. Managed to change the direction and no creeping and not stopping, but still far from the real deal as you can see from the video. Need to think about this some more. End point adjustment doesn't seem to do much, and this is just on a lazy Susie with me swinging it around. Will do some real life testing tomorrow on a superspin and see what it actually look like. GA-250 is mount on the hull.
