If you've got a Late Tiger (like the one posted by Jeman), you can fire smoke bombs with the small device behind the loader's hatch. Why would you take an inferior system that was declared defective and removed from Tigers a year ago, and add it to your machine to do something you can already do?

Now, there could be an old Tiger somewhere that got upgraded with steel wheels and Zimmerit, and still had the old launchers it was built with. But it would be an Early Tiger.

David, that's the same thing I just said. A field modified Tiger that was never photographed is quite possible. As to why would a commander want to mount an older not as good set up to his tank I'd have to reply by asking you a question, were you ever in combat? I have been and I can tell you that you use whatever you can get you hands on to make your life any easier. I myself used to carry several knives with me and a tomahawk and I had several people ask me why I would bother with any of them because we have guns, I'd reply by asking them if they had unlimited ammo in their pants. They'd say no with a confused look on their face and I'd tell them my knives and ax never run out of ammo.

Just cause its older and not as good doesn't mean that it won't work or is garbage.
