Hello Larry.
It is probably best to keep it simple and say production assembly of the Tiger I was done at the Henschel & Sohn Werk III assembly plant in Kassel-Mittelfeld up until this factory was damaged in a bombing raid in October 1943. Henschel built all the hulls to running status. The turrets were built by Wegmann Waggonfabrik A.G in Kassel and shipped to the Henschel plant.
From this simple concept, it can be muddied up quite nicely. The initial production turrets were actually built by Fried.Krupp A.G. in Essen and it was Krupp who supplied completed turrets to Wegmann to help them get their production up to speed, because Krupp already had a lot on their plate with turret production and other armor bits for the Pz.Kpfw.IV tank.
D.H.H.V (Dortmund Hoerder Huttenverein) was another company making componets for the Tiger I. These two companies took on more of the full production of the Tiger I following the bombing raid damage to the Henschel plant. So, by 1944, Henschel, Wegmann, Krupp and D.H.H.V. were all making Tiger I's. By the end of June 1944, Krupp had built 537 and D.H.H.V 758. The last 54 Tiger I's ever built were hybrids. Krupp refurbished and converted 17 hulls and 11 turrets and D.H.H.V completed 23 hulls and 14 turrets, Henschel 15 lightly damaged hulls and Wegmann 9 lightly damaged hulls. 15 extra turrets were supplied by Krupp and 6 from Wegmann, using replacement spare parts to assemble them.
Probably more info than you cared for, so it may be best to stick with the 'universal arm waving generalization' that Henschel did it all. That keeps most people quite happy.
Regards,
David
