yes thanks norse...!! ;D ;D ;D but first we are going o needto find somewher thats affordable!! for people to chip in o get, as we dont really want to be renting land caus when the contract or rental time runs out all our effort of building will be gone :( :( :(

i will have to contact someone i know that owns some land, they've got a roughly 50 by 100 foot patch not being used but i duno if the council would allow covering it in 1:16 buildings and tanks :P

hopefully the places Iam looking into will be rent free with maybe an admission charge possibly going to the owners

This is the shot that killed my T34!

I was at Yeovilton with the UKTC and got permission from the Curator to play in the sand of one of their dioramas to take some pics. I hoped to be able to leave loads of tracks in the sand, but within 20ft the tank was immobile. I did think at the time that there was something wrong with an Egyptian tank that wouldn't run on sand.

That was in 2006, and two rebuilds ago. I'm still finding grains of sand in it  :'(

Oook!

Definatly not sand then, soil sounds best from what people are saying here. Which also should mean less hassle for whoever sets the area up in the first place.
