OK, latest pics. I'm all done with the Primer now and its onto the Zimmerit!
Also applied a little baking soda to the exhausts for a nice rusty effect...

Hi Mart,
212 is looking good, the zim is very nice.
Regarding the zim, check out all your reference books, materials etc before you do the turret
Oz noticed something that caused quite a debate at the model club and his observations were correct.
Better still, drop him a PM and he might let you in on his discovery.
Cheers
John

Re: Tiger 221
Small update for now, finished the Zimm on the rear panel and right hand hull side, and painted over the baking powder 'rust' - looks pretty good in the flesh, just needs a sooty wash applying to complete

Re: Tiger 221
starting to like like a tank now - got a base coat of dunkelgelb on to most of the hull, still got to zimm the front hull tho

Re: Tiger 221
Looking good there ex_pat_tanker, might have to think about putting zim on my Tiger 1 it was going to be a late model but now it going to have to be a sort of mid/late war hybrid version. Things are still in flux at the moment ( kitbashers block )
. All the best for now
Alan

Re: Tiger 221
Hmm... must be time for an update!
The Turret Zimm is complete and drying right now. I hope to get the base colour on before I go to bed and finish the camo tomorrow. Then its down the post office on Saturday to ship her off for getting the El-Mod hooked up, while I get packed off to Austria for 8 weeks on Sunday...
I wanted to keep the airsoft function, so I'm going experiment with the Cannon Flash LED and set it up in the commanders coupola. Not sure how well it will work on a sunny day, but I'm willing to give it ago!
The Hull is looking pretty packed now - the El-Mod blaster is on its way, as is a set of steel gears from Bill...

Re: Tiger 221
Looks like I missed last months update:
(took the pics, processed them but never posted them!)
Fitted the Emitter tube to the hole left by the airsoft warning light. this was just a 15mm long x 5mm ID styrene tube.
I then fitted the airsoft LED in the commanders hatch along with the airsoft switch. The loaders hatch now contains the el-mod CSI Socket.
