I know that certain London and Greater London parks employ "Rangers" and the National Trust property "ASHRIDGE PARK" also uses "Rangers" and a more helpful and knowledgable group I have yet to find.
I found a plant that I couldn't identify and I asked a ranger, she straight off told me it was an "OREGON GRAPE" which had been introduced to the forest to provide shelter in the snow for insects and small mammals as this plant does not shed it's leaves in Winter and grows close to the ground AND the berries can be used to make "JAM"
Truly a Ranger" who knows her facts and the forest that is her workplace.

Wibbley, not sure how I adopted an attitude of a victim, do you mean by my initial apology? That was my attempt to diffuse the situation and allow a graceful exit. However when dousch nozzle followed me to my car and would not let me leave and thought he could order me around because he was gathering full trash bags from their cans my attitude completely changed towards him. Laughing when he told me I couldn't put my KT in the trunk and telling him he better bring a gun if he wants to take it from me.
I was being polite at first, when he went to full on stupid that's when I started being a smart ass toward him. That and honestly that one woman was doing a splendid job with him.
Also ever since I was a little boy and had a group of kids ask to see an R/C dune buggy I got for Christmas and the one boy knocked it from my hands and started to stomp on it I've been very leary of letting people too close to my R/C vehicles. So when he started making threats towards my KT I just wanted to get it in my trunk to be safe.

I definitely understand the leery part, Jack. When you take an expensive tank to the park and the little boy wants to kick sand all over it you start to think twice about public outings. I blame most of it on the parents for taking kids out in public before teaching them how to act around their fellow humans. But, living in a society where these soccer moms find it necessary to drive their kids to a bus stop that's less than 100 yards from the house I guess I shouldn't be surprised by anything anymore.
It is, however, quite refreshing to hear about the mostly good experience with your fellow park goers, despite the nasty garbage man. It seems like the children there were well behaved, and that's a rare find.

Max, the kids were great! None tried to touch it without asking and when they did they only poked at the driver.

That's great, Jack. Kids are just terrific if they've had a little home trainin', ya know? And watching those little eyes light up at what the tank does is pretty cool.

He was jealous. You had a great tank..... he didn't. All the kids' attention was on you and the KING TIGER. He wanted some attention. Boy did he get it.... what an impression he made on those people. Right now there are people going to that park wondereing...... Gee maybe the fellow with the tank will be here! No ones going to be hoping lil Hitler is present! Should of unloaded a few 6mm on him..... now that would be FUN!!!

BUT....we have been fighting with our county all summer because of the park rangers kicking us out of the parks with our RC Crawlers. The too are just plain A-Holes about the whole ordeal.
Which parks? And did you get the rangers names?

Been kicked out of Longview, Jacomo(flemming) and Landau. I don't have the names anymore. Basically the county has a law against RC vehicles and they require a permit to use them on park grounds.

And that's because of those damn drones! That's the exact problem I ran into however the ranger wasn't buying what the trash man was selling and gave me the win.
