Stopped by UPS and talked to them and was told I had to call the main number to report it, so I did. The goofball on the phone heard only 2 words in regards to the damage "GUN BARREL" and cut me off to ask if I had a gun shipped to me though them. I had to get the supervisor on the phone because he DID NOT UNDERSTAND what I meant by a TANK! I had to explain it is a remote control Army tank, not a real tank, there is no real gun, it does not shoot anything it is a remote control Army tank toy. Then they understood and asked if it could be fixed or needed to be replaced and I told them it is a one of a kind work of art that I had specially commissioned by an expert artist in the field and that it could NEVER be replaced but I may be able to fix it but it would cost me to repair it. So he asked me how much and I told him $2500 and he gasped, I laughed and said nah $300! :haha: So the claim has been started we'll see what happens.

Isn't it wonderful how some people have selective hearing and no matter how hard you try, they don't get it. Good luck with your claim.

Sorry to hear this tale, would have seriously wound me up, it did just reading it! My wife is the best at complaining in situations like this , most powerful tool for it is Twitter. Companies HATE having things like this in the public domain. Get on there and tweet, trust me it works, get even.

Thanks guys. I'm not on Twitter or Facebook, they cause more problems then they're worth IMHO.

:haha: :haha: :haha: :lolno: So get this I called UPS back today because I hadn't heard back from them and they tell me that sometime between now and Thursday they'll be by my house to pick the tank up to take it and inspect it, then if they deem they caused the damage they'll pay Palepainter the money to refund me the money and the tank is disposed of. I told the woman that won't work because this is a one of a kind tank that was made and would be almost impossible to duplicate and I'm NOT going to hand it over to be disposed of.
So she tells me ok then we can bring it back after the inspection and I told her thats not going to happen either that I'm not giving their drivers another chance to further damage it possibly to the point where I won't be able to fix it at all.
Then it was they will send a driver to inspect it at my house sometime in the next week but she couldn't tell me when, so I asked her if UPS is going to pay me to stay home and pay my paycheck? She said no that won't happen so I told her ok figure out whats next cause if they're not willing to pay me my $400 a day to wait for them then I'm not missing work.

So now I'm waiting for the "customer care" department to call me back so they can figure something out.

Dispose of the tank, :lolno: yeah I don't think so! Man UPS SUCKS to deal with!
