Nay, my boon companion,
This calls for no Counselor, just the occasional reverberating !BELCH! and a *scratching* so vigorous that it produces noise! You will soon be admired by your Wife in your shop from afar, aye, een' encouraged to dwell within it's vasty spaces and model. model, model. ( Note: Manufacturer makes no claims, one size does _not_ fit all and do not iron this garment while wearing )
regards,
Painless

Added Note Jack...at the moment I side with you....as I haven't heard your Wife's side to the matter....we don't know a lot of things... for instance we don't know if you over spent an agreed upon family budget...things like that...which could be the reason she's so hush hush about the matter
I have more than sixteen tanks....and that is because I measure the costs for each one ...and try to maintain that on all of them...it's easy to get carried away ....especially on this board...there is a lot of peer pressure to mod a tank...but as you may have observed...I stick to my guns and build them to my specs than others ...even when they break... I'll see if I can design something before going out and spending more money on them...it just adds to the fun for me

It's easy to get into the "bolt on" mindset.....just remember ...it takes time for those bolt ons to get to you...and you are adding cost onto your tank...perhaps from an outsider's point of view.... I might see your wife observing your frustration when parts don't arrive on time or don't fit or work properly right off the bat ...consider that for awhile...perhaps she feels you are too involved in doing what you do...which to me shows a lot of concern for your well being

So I do think there is a balance point in this situation...we just don't know the other side

Now with that said... I'm sure it can be worked out... Good Luck Buddy

Alpha, I don't want to come off as a bragging but so all I'll say is money is NOT an issue. :haha:

Tonight we have "A TALK" and she gets to explain it to me.

I don't know your relationship and will not presume to give advice to a married man who wants to remain that way. I can offer up what I think the real issue she has with your Hobby might be. It's no big secret that what we enjoy doing is time intensive. She may feel that your 'toys' take time away that might be better spent doing things together as a couple. Not knowing the situation, that's all I feel comfortable saying. Even that is pure speculation on my part. To resolve, try spending commensurate amounts on things that she likes, wants or has dropped hints about whenever you are about to spend money on a tank. It may help, I do not know. Good luck, Sir.

Painless nailed it. I have been married for 15 years and whatever hobby I pursue, I usually overdo it to the point I am not spending enough time with the wife and problems then ensue. As soon as I devote more time to her, she is much more agreeable to my hobbies. Also, I have found asking for forgiveness is much easier than seeking permission. :D

Half Track is in Santa's sack and headed to me. :haha:

I asked her what her problem was with me getting more R/C tanks or the half track, her reply was to ask if I'm regressing into some kind of past life experence wanting all these WWII R/C tanks and trucks or am I having a mid life crisis? So told her yeah cause they had all sorts of R/C vehicles back in the 40's and if I were having a mid life crisis I'd be buying a C7 Z06 not a few R/C vehicles. :haha: I asked her again what the deal was and she couldn't give ANY kind of answer beyond "because I said so" I reminded her I am not her kid I'm her husband, she said I was right and its on its way AND any future argument as to why I can't get a Sherman next has now been rendered moot.

Still can't get why she said it in the first place but what ever its on the way now!
