T(h)anks eveyone :D , really appreciate it all. It's my first build since I was about 12, pleased with how it's gone so far, thanks for the link painless, will get one sorted. Some of the threads on rctankwarfare were fantastic and this video really helped me to understand the different techniques, perhaps it will help someone else.

Will get some more pics up as I go,

Hi all, ok been a bit of a nightmare, tiger 231 got dropped on its barrel and this smashed the recoil mechanism. I got a replacement recoil unit off wdm but when I have wired it up something strange is happening. When the recoil is turned on via the switch on the turret the recoil doesn't work and the elevation just constantly goes.

I will be honest I am a complete bodge it with the electrics. I snapped one of the wires off the recoil motor from the switch, had someone who can solder put this back on for me. The switch is working as when it's turned off the turret works, elevation, rotation all ok.

Any suggestions here?

Cheers
