Only so many hours in the day. Or in my case middle of the night. Two small babies making life difficult. I also like to drag out mu builds to get vslue for the projects. If I was paid to cpmplete the models I woild be faster

You build Monster Scale John

.... Never built a 1/6 metal tank.... not sure I want too...but I would thing the time line would be much different on one of those... though I do think they might be easier on the eyes.... I can tolerate about the same working time when using my magnifier for small stuff on the 1/16th scale stuff I do...and even on the larger areas tops out at about 10 hours tops... yes usually during the wee hours of the night...when all is much quieter and less hectic...but overall ...it really doesn't reflect much on how long a build takes
I know the way I do things is to prioritize ... starting where needs the most attention...then moving forward or back... whichever place I started from.... Like on my L70... the front seemed like the most important... I think it was the same with both my M4s...the KV2 started in the middle with the turret...and my T34 in the rear with the engine vents ...usually ending with a general tune up of the electricals and mechs
Don't really think it's the methodology... as I do notice everyone has a different way...but it is interesting

I think there is a correlation between the amount of time and beer you have.

Mine can take years.
I sometimes get bogged down in detail, (usually something stupid like working hinges on something that'll never be opened) also I'm easily distracted and start new projects before my current one is finished (working on 4 things at the moment and have 6 other projects that have been shelved for now).
I like a bargin and will sometimes wait to see if I can get an expensive part in a sale or something. Also my hobby funds itself so my tanks are paid for by other tanks that I've bought cheap, done up and sold for a profit (my girlfriend can't complain then, though every time a tank comes through the door she usually says "is that for you or to sell" as we're running out of room).
And my finished tanks are never really finished as they could always do with a touch up here and there when they're in for maintenance.)
