Enjoying it more & more is all part of the sickness we have !................I reckon no matter how any build turns out, the builder will always have just one more detail or process they coulda/shoulda/woulda done !!
I try to take a bit from all sources & use the bits I A-can achieve and B- find that will improve my final outcome.
All boiled down, there are always going to be similarities and vast differences, thats part of why this hobby is so captivating, you never know how things are going to roll.
Keep it up mate, do you have the final plan for it yet ?

I think I want to style and colour it after tiger 131. We shall see cheers

Marco I wonder if you have access to the" HAYNES TIGER TANK OWNER'S WORKSHOP MANUAL"? If you don't know HAYNES are the publishers of car workshop manuals and this is a take on that but it is very useful as a reference source and most important of all it is based on 131 at the TANK MUSEUM, you could do a lot worse than giving this book the once over. shaun

Mark, I am watching this one with interest and its looking really good. And don't be put off by anything I have done - I look at some of my earlier work and sometimes 'wince', believe me. You obviously have the courage / determination to try things out and that's what counts more than anything.

Take the weld beads for instance - I never thought I could do that until I saw others like yourself give it a try. Then I tried myself and, after a great deal of self-doubt (believe me) made it work. This site is all about sharing successes and failures - and learning from each other - which is why I don't edit my blog to remove mistakes. It's also important to bear in mind how long I have been improving my Tiger - over 3 years already. For me it takes time to get things right...

I look at some of the things my boys (now 9 and 11) do and remember what I was able to achieve at their age - and I am dumb with admiration. We can all learn from youngsters - they aren't as hung up as we are because they simply enjoy doing something new.

So keep on!

And yes, I recommend the Haynes Workshop Tiger book very highly - it's in the bibliography in the midst of my blog.

Spent a bit of time on it tonight. Pulled off the road wheels and started priming them and a few other bits. Using Mr primer in oxide red. Unfortunately ran out so ordered 2 more cans.

Also ground out the back bit of the turret bin and built a styrene box with a nail head in it for the turret lifting post.

Hope to get more done tomorrow.

After a little more research, my Rommel box hole I cut is too small
And crooked, too many beers watching World Cup maybe
So going to open it up a bit more and straighten it out, got the hand of it now so shouldn't take me too long, I am also going to add bits of styrene to the sides of the bin to correct the HL shape a bit.

Pleased with the results of the side hull brackets and cable. I used an electric guitar string for the cable and the end bits are from the plastic heng long cables.
