Label. I am shipping it back and he will be sending me a replacement tank. He also said he would unbox and test the new one before sending it on to me. So I am happy this will be resolved :)
Outstanding Mark... hope the next one comes in better shape..I would urge you to open it up and at least lube the gears...better yet ask if Gene can do it for you ;)
sounds like a good company...I might have to look into them...do they carry detail/upgrade parts?

Gene was most helpful. He is a tanker himself and chatted with me for a bit about the hobby.
He does indeed sell detail/upgrade parts for Taigen and Tamiya.
He has a nice website. It also has a couple of tank builds featured step by step with good tips.
Once my New Tiger arrives I am going to order some upgrade parts and paints , weathering supplies from him :)
ALPHA are you in the US also?
Mark

Yes .. right across the Pacific... on a rock in the Hawaiian chain...Oahu :D RC tanks shops are scarce here... tough to locate good vendors..everything is pretty much seek and search... and even though this board has a good listing of recommended sellers... several are in Germany the UK..and China..I have found some on the mainland..but several don't service Hawaii ... so I will definitely give this guy a look

Thanks Mark :D

If you are running a RX13 the simple board with a big 8 wire connector with a heating tube around it then you have had the exact same problem as me i got rid of my board and replaced it with a RX18 and receiver board if you are in the UK you can get the two things for under £20 i don't know how much in dollars my tank is much stronger and faster since this upgrade and I'm giving a big thank you for all the guys on this website because they all helped me with parts/advice so mate try to do what i did and you will love it

Got an email from Artistic Hobby today.

"Received your tank yesterday. The gearboxes are shot. Everything else with your tank looks good (Mechanically). Will be putting in new gearboxes but I want to put in something better than what you had so you wont have this issue anymore."
So that sounds cool. Will be gettig the same tank back but with a better gearbox. Apparently the cracked hull happens on all of this model so he didn't deem it fit for a full replacement.
I am ok with that as long as I get a working vehicle.

It's back! And works perfectly!!
Gene at Artistic Hobbies is awesome, some sellers would have said it was my fault, he took care of it, upgraded to black metal gears and tested it before returning it to me!
:)
Can't say enough good things about that.
Now back to chasing the cat :D
