Based on a Sherman M4A2 tank, and able to operate in 9 foot (2,7 m) deep water, it was used to remove other vehicles and re-float stuck landing crafts. 52 of them were deployed on the Operation Neptune, (or D-Day), and they continued to be used until the 1960s.

SHERMAN BEACH RECOVERY VEHICLE ....very cool

Hey thanks tanker242....there wasn't a designation for it when I found the picture... but it's interesting for sure... has good possibilities for those like me who have TIPANTHERS as the all the wheels and sprockets look good... and even though it's a side view the exhaust resembles what's on the HL
and now that I have a name

it's actually an excellent candidate for a mod....even the PANTHER turret can be used...... think I'll try this one. as I still have an entire hull ...it would be cool to have a little stubby running around :haha:

Thanks again

Thanks Alpha

I think a pair of really interesting chassis that don't usually get much of a look in on here or any other site ate the HL bulldog and pershing chassis ...people seem to not recognize the potential of them......

I know that there another super Pershing being built ...and a mighty find tank that build is ...and also one to two and centurions and you pointed out there the m42 duster .and an M75 apc ..based on the bulldog which i have seen built ....but other than that ..nothing else .....

Any way heres my super pirshing that i built 7 years ago and she's still in a box in the loft ..safe ....

EXCELLENT mcevoyi! ....on both your builds and your post...It's so fortunate there are MASTER builders like you and others like fynsdad... dgsselkirk...Dr Phil...tomhugill...edwin...Painless...sassgrunt,,,to inspire us fledgling modelers... who are either revisiting the hobby or just starting up

It's things like what you have just shown... and some of the unusual that I have included in this thread ... that might help turn the wheels of creation in others...they may not have the ability right off... but just knowing they can come and ask makes a project a little less scary :D

I know for myself ... I now have at least three for future builds..The first inspired by fynsdad... the chaffee.. which I already have a rolling chassis done... the second will be that luchts inspired by your sharing of the VK 1602...the third will be a KV 2 inspired by Painless

It's great knowing what can be done with stock bits if put together creatively

And reason I refer to you... and the rest of the gang as mentors..

I thank you all

ALPHA

PS... I know I left some names out of whom I consider Masters... hopefully you know who you are... and continue to help us newbies with your examples of Craftsmanship

M45 PERSHING ...

Like the Super Pershing... not all that common...but a relatively easy build...

I did it because shortening the barrel made it more close quarter friendly...and though basically still a stock Pershing.. was a fun conversion to do
