Good Evening,
Looks just like it should, Mr. Phil. Nice work! Mr. Wobbly, never will cross word about nylon gears leave my lips again. Every component has it's place with those who like it best.
regards,
Painless Wolf

Surprising how just a couple of plastic blocks in the suspension hole can have a dramatic effect on the look of that T34. It doesnt look toy like anymore but more like the real thing.

That is a very effective mod, and cheap too! Looks really good now.

Hello phil..
Nice job on the suspension... I hope you don't mind if i copy your idea... I'm new here ... Signed in when i found a picture underwritten with you just ordered this from hobbyraw (to which i posted a heads up )
we must have ordered about the same time ... Because mine arrived a couple days ago as well...it was a headache
i haven't tinkered with mine yet... Just the test run to make sure everything was in order... A little disappointed that it didn't have the commander.. But no big deal... The remote kind of threw me for a loop...no antenna !! And no interchangeable crystal!!!... My god!!!
thanks for the tip on the suspension ... I wasn't even sure it would even be able to be modded

By the way phil.. Those metal tracks... Did you also acquire them from hobbyraw...or were you able to fit the ones made for the wsn model?...i'm just wondering... Because i really don't want to deal with hobbyraw again... And i can get the metal tracks meant for the wsn from another online shop
thanks

Thanks for taking pic's ..and from what i can see i think its once again hl at there best ! ...i can't wait to get my grubby hands on one or two as i can see a lot of conversion potential
May i ask the question....was it a uk retailer you got it from ?
Hello mcevoyi
i found phil's original post when he had just ordered it.... I don't want to step on anyone's toe as i'm kind of new at this ... But he got his from the same place i got mine...originally i found it listed on ebay... Where the seller redirected me to his online shop hobbyraw....a little shady... But like phil took the chance and ordered the tank..... Because i needed to have it lol
have a built up trumpetter... Pre made but same molds as the wsn... Even has a stripped gear box in it and appropriate mounting points ....but thought if i can get this baby... That would be one hell of a lot of time and expense i could avoid lol
it's a good looking tank... With your normal hl quality of plastic. (which i feel is very durable)
just be careful when ordering from hobbyraw... They are china based... And the communication is sketchy at best...i thanked the tank gods there was paypal :d

Thanks for the excellent pics and video of this one in action, Phil. Wow, Nylon gears. I didn't know that HL was still using those. Quietness factor? You guys always change them out whenever you find them in a tank so there must be a huge, honking pile of the things somewhere. ;o)

I have actually opted for plastic gears in a few of my tanks now. I just glue up the slipper clutch and they are great, people think that the ratchet noise they hear from plastic gears is the gears grinding away, but its just the clutch clicking round. The gearboxes are so cheap that if anything goes wrong it costs less than £10 to replace them, and at the same time get a mountain of spares from the old ones.
They are incredibly smooth and quiet, well worth a try before spending a fortune on noisy metal ones (of which I also have plenty...and brass ones... etc etc).
Hello wibbly wobbly
i hope you don't mind if i add a little tip to your gluing of the plastic clutch gear in heng long gearboxes...yes they do work... And so long the final gear drive doesn't crack...the plastic gearboxes will give you a lot of pleasure
but instead of glue... I use shoe goo...once hardened,,it is pretty secure... Binds to the nylon very well
and as you say.. Will give you a lot of silent running :d

Hey there phil...
Because of your post .. I finally made some time to take apart my t34... Just to see what kind of clearances were there... I found i have one of those first run production fluke tanks ... It had metal gears...i kind of thought it was a little noisy ...unlike the nylon gears ... But was pleasantly surprised after opening it up
i will be copying what you did to mod the ground clearance... Which once again think makes the model look so much better
thanks again :d
