A surprise in the post today, butterfly screws from tank zone has allowed me to finish the cable holders. I've also started on the electronics side. Took off all the existing wires in the asiatam recoil and rewired it to work with the slu (and probably Clark). All working fine now, hopefully I'll get everything else connected tomorrow and a video up.

Finished installation of the SLU. So I will have full tamiya IR battle capacity but can still use all the Taigen fittings.

I've also rejiggd the fenders, my first attempt at soldering brass but it seems to have come out ok.

I'm really drooling over this one. If the Taigen\Asiatam Tiger1 turrets and decks contain so much detail, it' will be nice to be able to put one together like you have done. Thanks for the video of it running. Solid! just like a Tiger should be.

Cheers painless, I have to say the turret is really nice with the weld lines, detailed hatch etc! They had them on welsh dragon for £25 which had an asiatam recoil and flash, absolute bargain! The deck is good, pity about the moulded tools but it's easy to put right. The driver hatches are again excellent and have the perescopes pre installed!

Now I've only had the slu in my elefant which had some issues, but in the tiger it's really good, turns smooth and very easily controlled. I'll have to see how it goes on grass as the elefant struggled but with plastic tracks the tiger might be ok, will keep you posted!

Well found my colour scheme, mainly influenced by the decals available, I know it's tri tone but it's quite different to anything I've tried before

Nope I'm going for quite an early version! From the picture she shouldn't have smoke launchers but they're staying put as during the time period of the tiger it seems many still had them.

Starting to get some paint on the old girl, first the red oxide:

I have finally began to get some proper paint on her. This time I'm giving the hairspray technique a go. Got some good tips off Martin yesterday. As it stand the paint a chipping looks quite vivid, this means I can dull it down later without going too dark. There are a lot of scrapes and scuffs, but I have yet to add filters and any washes:
