After half an hour of some swearing and trying to cut down the side of the glue that kept the defuser in it took one quick bend to snap it off. Should have done that from the outset, quick sand and I cut off a portion of the back of the vents I glued it in place now the smoke runs out of the vents!
Call me sad, and no its not the most exciting thing that had happened this week... had some nice cake last night now that was exciting!
pics
Added a fan to the top of the smoker and a small hole just after the pump valve, took the motor out but I think I will put it pack to get the pump effect.

Good Morning!,
I noticed that your defuser was hanging a lil' cockeyed earlier. Looks much better now! Nice one on all the smoker work. Sweet on the cake as well. What kind was it?

Thought I would have a go at the plastic boxes and bags (bags need the buckles painting). I took a dermal to the boxes and glued some plasticard on the back then painted highlighted etc.
Started on the figure, waiting for paints to turn up and some new brushes to finish him off. All my small brushes have seen better days.

Good Morning,
The luggage and boxes look a ton better with the work you have done. Hey! I just painted one of those fellows last night for my Mato Sherman. I have three of them painted up and on duty now and they all look insane. Yours looks much better already, Phil. *chuckles* I will put a coat of clear flat on mine this morning and he will look a little better. (maybe) You should do a video on figure painting.

P.S. His cuffs and collar aren't orange, some trick of the camera color.

Painless, I'll give the video thing a go but it takes a little planing and time. Took me about two hours to do the figure tonight and still more to do.
Almost finished the figure, just need to paint his stripes on and finish his gloves. Took a lot of scraping with a knife to get all the mould marks off and filler round the arms.
Not great colour with my iPhone I'll drag the Nikon D5100 out in the natural light if it stop raining this weekend.

Good Afternoon,
This is one of the better moldings I have seen for Heng Long figures and as you noted, it still takes a lot of prep to get it ready for paint. I'm glad that you are considering the instructional video as while I can do the prep and the technical painting of clothes and accessories like caps and helmets, all of that effort goes to waste if they do not come out looking human. A hit and miss thing with mine. As you can see:

Good Afternoon,
It's certainly coming along. Some severe weathering, tank has seen some service. I got a chuckle out of 40wt and 100wt. Looking forward to seeing more.

Good Evening, Doc Phil,
The only word that covers this build is Sherman! Decided to ditch the headlight cover on the search light? Looks great as is. I'll make a stab at doing mine as well as yours, Phil but you have the 'touch'. I'll use some of your ideas if all right, especially the bar to hang the bags. ;o) Which tank? your poor Panther of course! I can't wait to see how you will bring it to life.
regards,
Painless
