Ah I see
Would it be possible for you to time the turret rotation of a std HL tank with the IBU fitted to give an idea of how fast, or indeed slow, it is???

Hi Big Joe.
Done some timings. Used my Tiger 1 which has Taigen control unit in it and same 7.2v NiCd battery for all electronics. This tank doesn't have 360 degree turret so I did the timings over 180 degrees (90 degree side to 90 degree other side)
Taigen 6 seconds
IBU2 6.5 seconds
TK20 6.2 seconds
So not much in it.
Then I tried the IBU2 Pro with 9.6v Battery and got 5 seconds. The IBU2 Pro actually works up to 12v not certain if the others can use higher voltage batteries.
Ian.

Well guys, I've not had a good summer lost my way and done little modelling so hopefully this has helped me get back into swing.
So here we go. I've been very happy with the TPA sound module and twin speaker setup. I found in my Tiger and Leopard placing speaker in the engine deck and one in turret gave a really good sound effect i.e. the sounds coming from the correct locations.
First up mount a Visaton FRS7 speaker between the gearboxes for the engine sounds (sorry no pictures at moment) Next speaker in the turret, bit difficult as the HE turret has no opening hatches. So with some thinking this is what I did.
Removed this vision panel
removed some of the internal plastic
Speaker glued in place
Mod to the vision panel
So now the sound effect sounds come out and are projected forward. Great for main gun
Next the gunner on the HE version turned with the elevation so now fitted a servo and servo tester PCB so I can set it to manual/neutral/oscillate
Finally elevation servo added.
Still need to put back together and do a video. The IBU2pro has also been updated to firmware Ver 1.10 so has the enhanced sound features so will also show them off in the video
Ian.

Right here's some pictures of the engine speaker installation
This is the rear of the Abrams
And mod to let the sound out.
