Have I missed something? I thought Airfix had made a comeback? Various modelling mags I buy have some exciting new stuff (nothing 1/16th armour I'm afraid) coming out. I thought they did a link up with Hornby and are back producing?

In the 1/35 range Dragon have been outclassing Tamiya for a few years now hence why they resurrected 1/48 which was a scale from the past long extinct Tamiya prices are up 25% due as has been said to exchange rates, Airfix haven't done anything new or upgraded there molds for 20 years

Although its not of much interest to me anymore but I'm sure Airfix have  upgraded thier moulds and released some new stuff, as oz said the mozzie(and a new 1/24th spit I think) a couple of Canberra's, nimrods and even specialist stuff for doctor who and even wallace and gromit!! Nothing that appeals much to me but you never know in future. I know they aren't just sitting back on the old stuff according to the mags I'm getting anyway.

1/24 Mosquito sounds good. I bought the 1/24 Spitfire a few years back in a mood of nostalger but was very dissapointed when I started building it. Detail and parts fit wasnt up to todays standards. Saying that I got the 1/24 GR3 last year and that was much better.

Must admit, I did fancy the 1/24th stuka as a change to armour but I had a couple of Revell submarines bought me for christmas and they're each both about 3 feet long ! I'm starting to run out of space.

hi abo
what submarines did you get?, years ago i made a big model sub, the uss patrick henry, i cant remember what make it was (i was 11 at the time) but it was quite big, it had panels you could take off to show the interior detail, which was a real pain to put together back then, it even had little missiles that you could shoot out of a couple of the missile tubes. but a model i really wanted to build was a german u-boat, but sadly never got round to it

It's not just Tamiya guys. I have had an email today from a supplier I use saying that all of the overseas manufacturers including Dragon, Italeri and even Zvezda are increasing prices by between 25-30% from the end of February.

i think that sales have hit a all time low so the less units you sell the more you have to get per unit ,but if you cannt sell them at old prices you surely cant sell them higher.all moneys :o[move][/move] are failing you can only sit back and hope it recovers, because when it fails and it will,it will unleash carnage like this world has ever seen,if you think i am only one who thinks this look up the rex84 project and operation end game, its scary to think they already have a plan in the u.s.and have a name for it pucker up!
