Now that sounds like a good idea John, unfortunately just a few days too late. Like i said though its somewhere you wont see really and i like to have a bit of damage on my tanks. I'll see how it looks once its painted and I might add a few more holes to make it look more random.
Thanks Chris those pics helped me decide what to do with the air intake screens. Looks like the frames should go on first with the bolt brackets inboard, so the bolts fix into the top of the engine deck. On the HL StuG there's a lip running around the rear deck which means they wont fit properly like this, and they did look kinda weird anyway so i decided to cut the bolt brackets off. Then glued the frames to the air box and added the mesh screens on top. Once the super glue had dried I bent the mesh in a little as though they'd been walked on. I think they look a lot better they the standard HL screens and not hard to fit.
