Got back from work a few days early. Made it home for Fathers Day....................
Q : why is it they give you 1 day to be told things that they forget to carry out the other 364 & sweeten it with a gift ?
Completed the brace across the hull behind the gearboxes, and came up with an 'agricultural' method of making a speaker box.
Basically, a Movenpick icecream container, cut about 45mm high, speaker placed on top with the cable through a small hole, and taped together
Now its ugly, and more agricultural than the dirt in a farmers ass-crack, but it works
No pictures just now as the Mrs is out cheering(read screaming)at a rugby match and has my camera, plus, its just bloody ugly
I will secure it to the hull with velcro once I check the functions of course.
For now its awaiting key parts parts, and doing minor stuff on the hull until they arrive.

Been slow to no progress.
Ive placed the barrel support(still to assemble the handle parts) and although the Matorro mounting points on the hull are slightly out to the Ludwig dimensions, it does go on.
I seem to have hit the 'creative wall' on this build......................lack of parts, not my usual methodology, and strange uncertainty on the electronic package I was going to use, but am now second guessing
I hope my tank mojo is not waning !!

What parts are you after HERM

I may have stuff kicking around that may be of some use, just to stop the cogs from slowing, Kind Regards Andy

Thanks mate, its just barrel assembly, elevation method all that jazz.
I cant secure the upper hull front & rear plates until the barrel is done.
Then its recoil, and elevation hardware..............
Just feels like Im spinning my wheels
No parts-my methodology is all up the shit
I guess I need to remember its not a race !!
Got the MG ball sorted, used a bead that I had from the early days.
Made a brass sheet keeper for it, and I will drill it to take an aber MG.

I spent a lot of time mucking about trying to figure out all the gun mounting and recoil stuff, but it's less trouble than it seems.
Are you planning on using servos or using the original system? Did you want full elevation and traverse, or just elevation?

Welcome back Mr Ram.
I think thats the problem , Im still indecisive.
Was leaning towards a full blown elmod, but now am thinking of settling for new gen 2.4 even perhaps a set of the new T-90 stuff as the sound of the engine will be near enough and the cannon too.
Not sure, and that is stopping me from carrying on the internal upper hull work until I do

Oh great !..............no pressure or anything !
Ive got the bits on the way from Tank Modellbau De and Mr Carsten has been very gracious in dropping the VAT for me.
Once the barrel assembly gets here I can set about the internals.

I assume you all are familiar with that saying "be careful what you wish for-you just might get it" ?
Yes ?
Ive just had that moment
My new hardware arrived for the Jagdtiger.............beautiful barrel assembly from Tank Modellbau De, mantlet, and a few engine deck hooks.
The barrel is a work of art.........compared to the standard Matorro item, its in a different world.
Then, that aforementioned moment...........how the hell am I actually going to mount this and make it work
There is no way of simple attachment to the normal gun mechanism, and, its longer at the inside-turret area than the pivot point on a H/L set up by a lot.
It will have to be altered to make the connection to mount at all, let alone work to its full capability
Hey, its a good problem to have, but it was a bit of a 'sigh' moment when I realised this just got harder
I'll get there, it will just take a lot more creativity
It doesn't really show in the picture, but the new barrel is significantly longer, and the recoil tube at the mantlet is much chubbier.
