The AK, Ammo and Mig ones are all practically the same except AK do two versions - Worn Effects Fluid & Heavy Chipping Fluid. I used the Worn Effects on my last Tiger and loved the results - it looks used but cared for. I used the Heavy Chipping on a Panther G and it was quite extreme - would be good for very worn whitewash or a wreck but not much else. However I'd definitely recommend the AK Work Effects fluid for most things.

I will get in some sort of practice before pulling the trigger on the Mighty-Whitey, but to a degree its not going to be the end of the world if its not quite right. The over white wash will be relatively easy to touch up in places & might not be as affected by the final chipping as a normal paint finish due to the quite varying tones underneath and the inconsistent coating it will very likely get with the brush !
After a few days of drying properly & I guess soaking in to the grey and the primer beneath, the cam pattern has 'calmed down' a bit :eh:
I blued one track (because I ran out of bluing solution) and it turned out very well. But I destroyed one pin shaking it violently to get rid of the water !...........dumb-ass should have used the compressed air to blow it off. :/

Im almost ready to seal it, and do the pre weathering ready for whitewash.
Busy weekend ahead with the boy getting into the State Rep rugby team to play the champions tournament this weekend & a memorial challenge tournament the days straight after................
Will see how things roll.

Decals lads, whos do you recommend for 505th emblems & white outlined numbers ?

Good Morning,
Either Peddinghaus or Archer or a local shop for stencils. ( Just measure the size and take in an illustration that's scan-able to your local sign shop ) I do recommend decal softener if you go that route. Everyone I watch or read about their builds loves that stuff. Good Luck, Herman and continue to have fun.
regards,
Painless

I third elite armor and peddinghaus. Elite give you a nice CD as well so you can get nice big reference images.

I dont trust signwriters with what I need 8O
I looked at the Elite link & got ebay.
googeled them & got every swingin-d##k that sells on their behalf.
8 sheets of Tiger markings, two of my unit but no mention of custom production.

All I need is 3 sets of turret numbers & a few unit marks. Do these guys have a home page ?

I will try Peddinghouse now.

Thanks for the heads up lads, Im sure that somewhere will have a set of decals that I can get a descent '100' out of.

Elite do have a site but there selection is a little limited - they go on quality over quantity. Peddinghaus have a site but points at Ebay I think. They have a great selection. If it comes to it, all you need is the 100 tactical markings, which you might be able to get from another set.

Hi Herman,

Here you go:

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/PEDDINGHAUS-Decals?_rdc=1

Great decals I use them all the time on my builds. It is worth contacting them if you can't find what you want, I have heard that they may make a sheet up for you if you ask.

all the best

Paul

A great week he says !!!!!!!

Well, friday finished as most others, rushed home to watch the Friday night Super rugby from the first day of sons State Cup champs.
Just didnt get into it as normal.
Wife mumbles something about feeling a bit sore etc, I put it down to dragging around a Rugby tournament the whole day. :/

Yep, 2330hrs shes got the pain going on.
No normal pre-birth action though
take a panadol I say, you'll be right.

Anyway................daughter born 0532hrs Saturday 5th July (here) 4th july in the U.S. !!

10 days early, she seems impatient this one.

Ive just got back from several days in the hospital & thought I would share the news.

Better move it lads, my other 'hobby' has to get more clothes & I have washing to do :problem:

Funny though, this model kid doesnt need any moving of parts, no need for extras, seems to have a strong gearbox fitted already and will still cost the same to run !!!!!!!
