Heng long truck

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Mike can a servo be added with relative ease for the steering? Ultimately the electronics would be upgraded and improved. The remote reminds me of my old Aurora AFX track cars. 0- goes like hell

Carl, Carson actually posted a series of pictures with everything taken apart. I can't find it on Facebook anymore. Anyway, the bottomline is that there is room for a micro servo for steering for sure. The stock electronics is only a small circuit board, so whatever Clark is cooking up with their MTK-37 board it will have to be no bigger than their Tk-35 series without making room in the cab. The remote is absolutely garbage anyway, so my plan is either the MTK board or just a run of the mill ESC (no sound though), which I can then use my 9XR.

Hi Mike, thanks for the dimensions, I'll need to do some checking as to whether the chassis will work for an ACE Matedor model.

You can wire the 20 bucks sound board to the ESC and have plenty of sounds on your truck, mate.

I've heard $50 for the Clark board so by the sound you've bought the ESC and the das mikro I'd probably just buy the Clark which has a few more features.

Yep done some checks on the matador and the track width would be ok but the wheelbase needs to be increased by 55mm. Hopefully the chassis is long enough and I just need to extend the prop shaft. Looks like its a go build with a bit of finessing.

Shouldn't be a problem. Standard aluminium ladder frame you just need to extend and a cross brace.

I'm with ya on that one, Tom, especially since the das mikro has gone up and now they want about $40 USD for it. Might as well spend the extra ten and get the Clark, and then you don't even have to worry about the ESC.

I have an extra MFU for a temper crawler so I might try that, but it doesn't have sound.

40?? Its 20 free shipping: https://www.banggood.com/es/Sound-Unit- ... mds=search

I paid 15 for one some weeks go using one of the multiple banggood coupons (if you google "Banggood coupons" there are a lot of webs with them) The USB programmer is 2 euros on ebay free shipping (I already had one)

Anyway, if I had the truck, and if the Clark was 50 dollars, I might buy the clark... But its going to be 70-90, and in my opinion, its a lot.

Thanks for the tip, Rad. The last one I bought I got from eBay and it's gone up to almost $40 there. Not so sure about banggood after my experience with the truck, though.
