Post today brought in the IBU2 and TX for the Tiger. Ian is a great help since I am not 'Mr. Electronics' by any stretch of the imagination. I'm looking forward to getting everything installed and running so I can button it up. Now to find my butane Torch from the move...Pics:

Ran out of tape tonight while wrapping presents so decided to sit down and work on the Tiger for a bit. Completed Steps 33, 35 and 36. I won't do anymore work on the turret until I get the aftermarket turret MG mounted. Pics:

You know this "Mona Lisa" level of work will never catch on !!!!!...........

This is also a very good valedictory on why Tamiyas are expensive.................you really do get what you pay for.
Assembled under the right structured & academic approach, the Tiger becomes an even more impressive build.

Mr Sass must by now be fidgeting like a surrogate father waiting for this to be 'born' & handed over to a loving new parent :haha: :haha:
You however Mr Painless, must be feeling like you would be losing a close friend when you close the lid on the box & entrust it to the postal system 8O 8O

Herman,
People complain about the cost of Tamiya kits. I used to as well before I had the chance to see just how well engineered a kit could be. Patience is the key to getting a good deal for one. Sass is looking forward to his Tiger. He'll be flying out to pick it up and take it back on the flight with him sometime next Spring. No shipping container for this one. I will miss this build but I have it's Brother sitting in my tank room all boxed up and waiting to be built.
regards,
Painless

Sat down tonight to work on Step 37 ( from the RC manual ) and was able to progress partway through it. I discovered that there were no part MT1(s) or anymore MD7(s) anywhere to be found. Some searching in my old Tamiya parts box turned up the MD7 I needed but no MT1(s). A quick visit to AAF's site and they will be here in three days or less. Pics:

Good evening,
Tiggr, depends on which tank is selected. The Tiger is about 30% I'd say ( before I got started on it ) Max, Thank you, Doc!

Painless

Post showed up with the AAF parts set along with some other goodies, expected and unexpected. The Holidays have slowed me down on this build but I can start getting back up to speed soon. Pics:

I had an evening between work and running through the Holidays and spent a couple of quiet hours finishing up Step 37(RC) and installing the turret LED MG. I'll pick it up again at Step 38 the next spare hour I have. Pics:
