I have total faith in the end product for you Herman. The samples you've done so far scream excellence. I can't wait to see this next step!

Re: "PRODUCTION" TURRET KING TIGER
The blue tack did the trick of hard edge control, but it did leave a mark where it sat on the paint.
I really feel that it would have been fine if I had been able to get the paint done on the first day.
Rain etc meant I could not get paint on until today.
Or, perhaps doing one patch at a time would have worked.
The faint but visible damp patches should be invisible once sealer and weathering etc goes on, but it is still a bummer to see them at all after so much work.
I still have the last side Gelb patches to do, and I have decided to leave the engine deck and rear plate green only for now until I see how it looks with the Gelb completed on the rest of him.

Re: "PRODUCTION" TURRET KING TIGER
Cheers mate for the encouraging thoughts.
I will admit to being pretty apprehensive during the unmasking process, took 4 Coronas to calm me enough to begin
Im sitting right now getting the masking on the back end so the Gelb can be completed maybe tomorrow sans hangover
I will be getting 'happy-new-year-Auld- Lang- Syne' on big time tonight I assure you
Mrs 'B' reckons I should give the blue tack marks a go over with a cotton bud(tip) dipped in thinners & gentrly try to wipe the area & see if it comes good................The green has had a few days to go off, so perhaps this will work.
I will give it a go on a non intrusive spot & see.

Re: "PRODUCTION" TURRET KING TIGER
I did the quick wipe over with a Q-tip ?/ cotton tip dipped in thinners & rolled nearly dry.
Seems to have worked.
At least the very dark lines around the Gelb have gone or atleast softened enough that they should not show once the Tamiya clear matt sealer goes over it.
I am not going to use the sealer I used on the other 3 as I really want to give the Tamiya stuff a go. Surely it would be the zenith of product to use over other Tamiya paint ?
Hey Mr Caster, I can understand the life getting complicated thing - you just got married, Mrs Caster lost her job, you were diagnosed as a 'Tankaholic' & youve been away receiving councelling/therapy to manage the problem
Seriously, I hope all your "shit-gets-back-in-one-gumboot" and you can get on with life..........
With luck your time will include the finishing of your Tiger we all want to see.
Have a blinder of a new year & best wishes to you & the new Mrs C

Re: "PRODUCTION" TURRET KING TIGER
I seem to remember blu-tack leaving "wet" marks on walls and posters alike. I think I would have tried a little neat washing up liquid on it and then a careful rinse off with clean cold water.
She sure is looking magnificent so far!

Re: "PRODUCTION" TURRET KING TIGER
I am humble yet satisfied Master !!
Mrs B is out with ALL the kids at a fireworks thingo until, hmm , about now, so I will only have 2 hours or so left before the date changes ..............'tis a rare thing my house is devoid of noisey attention-grabbing offspring so I will take full advantage
Shouted myself a bottle of Gentleman Jack out of my (ahem) vast hoard of duty free booze & put the Coronas behind me pretty quick.
Got the last patches of Gelb masked off, leving the engine deck & rear plate green I think.
Just seems the right thing to do.
Have a #$##@@#$#$ - hot new years evening mate, and to those you care about, all the best wishes from my lot down here.
I shall be incoherrent shortly as I will swap this device for loud music & free-poured Gentjack !!
Cheers to all the 1/16th tankers in here & the suffering folks that support them eh

Goodonya mate, much appreciated.
I used the thinners so as not to get dreaded H2O in any important little places uncontrolled. The green paint blend has shown pretty cool side effects of being wiped haphazardly with thinners...............it has taken on a patchy, sort of scale rushed spray job if you get me

Rather than uniformed spray coat I have now a varying finish which is accentuated by the texture on the plates.
accidental bonus
