. What did you use for the Zim repair? And what wire size is it for the tie down loops?
Thanks Soeren,
For the Zimmerit repairs I used a product called "Procreate" two part putty. I think there is a joke about the name of this product somewhere on this blog. I also use this to make weld seams...works really good. If your interested its on page three of this blog.

Just cut off equal amounts and knead them together until color is light gray, and then your ready to Rock & Roll...
Once its cured its hard as a rock.
The wire size I used for the tie down lashings is .020" or .51mm or K&S #8159
It seemed to look proportional to me.

Hi All...Burger_Patrol1 here.....
Back from the dead. Hope ya'll are doing well in spite of all the craziness that has transpired over the past couple years.
It has been awhile since I have been active. Unfortunately lifes crazy bologna has derailed me from my Hobbies.
Well, I am going to make an effort to put some time in on the
"Tamy T1 Face Lift" I started and had to mothball in mid production.
I hope i remember how to post stuff correctly. If I'm flubbing up please let me know & i will figure it out. Well here goes nothin...
I think where I left off was mounting the motors. I bought some new black cans from ETO Armor many moons ago and they have been sitting
in a box under my work bench. I tested them out and they still work. There is a noticeable size difference from the ones i was going to install
originally. I also had to make some mods to the base plate by drilling a couple new holes for the motor base as well as trim off a portion of the motor housing so it would not hit my Torsion Bar suspension springs.

Wow you do some excellent work! I'm also glad you're back. You're providing me with inspiration and teaching me already. After seeing your use of the Procreation Putty I did some research since I've never seen it before. Looks like a great product. Is it true that it takes alot of effort to knead/blend? And whats the working/setting time when creating those beautiful weld beads?
Keep it up.
Chef

Yes Sir Mr. Bix, Feels good to be back in town, & yes I have to get caught on all the new articles and posts other tankers have posted. good to hear from ya and look forward to catching up.
Howdy Mr Chef, Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated
I find the Procreate is not to bad to knead together, I suppose its relative. I find adding a couple drops of water helps in the process & provides good workability. Regarding the work time, it depends on the ratio you mix part A & part B. If you mix 40% resin w/ 60% hardener you'd have 180 minutes work time. It also sets up hard in 24 hrs. 50/50 is 120 min, 60/40 is 90 min. I have tried other types of putty and this one I have found works the best for me. It is fairly easy to work with, it doesn't have solvents, so no smell, you can make fine details with it because of the smooth texture, & it doesn't shrink after its dried. I also found if you store it in a ziplock in a cool place it last a long time. I have a package that is at least 4 years old & I still use it.
Only funny thing is the name...LoL

Welcome back! I think the word for the part you cut into a kind of chisel is the "ferrule." Whether or not I have the right word, I can see lots of uses for the home-made tool. That's the kind of ingenuity that impresses me! I'll be watching to learn.
