Took it out for a test drive this afternoon. Hmmmm, 8O
One side of the tank just fell to bits ,
As u can see in the photo. I am not sure I am a huge fan of the mato
Metal hull and road wheels. taigen seems much smoother?
The mato wheels and suspension bind and stick , and wheels popped off
Good times , I am learning so much w this build :D
Used a little lock tite and put it back together, better, but I am still not convinced on the mato road wheels.

It wasn't very exciting :haha: it just made a noise and ground to a halt !
Any links photos or tips on brass sleeve or roller bearing installing?
It's finally coming together and has potential!! Just doesn't roll very well.
Cheers

It has never happened to me yet...but I have had tracks come off because of loose pins...I have to say...it was pretty cool...just because it is probably how things went in real time ;) A whole bank of wheels falling off would have had a dual effect..first a little shock...then a smile as the thought of the Law of Murphy popped into mind :D
Any links photos or tips on brass sleeve or roller bearing installing?
Cheers
Drop a line to Sass via PM for the bearing installation...that guy is a Wizard with those...Brass Sleeves are easy...just caliper a measurement off the arm get some brass tube stock that will slide over it ...then ream the wheel hole to fit ...allow a little bit of "length" to it so the washer doesn't contact the wheel...but not so much that there is a lot of play in it...some careful filing would be the rule of the day...lube and reassemble...they should run smooth after that ;)

All the best Mark

No real progress to report, still working on the paint.
I am going to try servo elevation and recoil. Started researching as I have never worked w servos before. I want to try and do it myself first before spending the money on the Clark printed parts.
Any advice greatly appreciated, pics, links etc... I saw the Lego idea and it intrigued me.
Cheers

OOOOOOOOO...Changing to servo is a relatively big deal...you may have to upgrade all the electronics 8O

I have the Clark board in it now Alpha
Will just have to figure out the programming for the elevation. Recoil is good to go

Slowly getting the hang of the paint and airbrush ! First timer here
Amazed at the control the airbrush has, WHEN I can actually get it going properly
It's like holding a pencil I guess and takes a bit to get the hang of.

Where does the time go ??? 8O
Almost 2 yrs I have been at it and still not done :haha:
I have learned so much with this tank and have 2 others I am working on also.
Today my barel recoil / elevation unit arrived from DKLM
Easy fit and works great( I only have recoil so far need to buy a servo for elevation
Recoil servo was included. I almost got the Clark one but this was a little less expensive and already assembled for the most part
