I'm kidding

...She's beautiful

LOL she does have an "exotic" look about her, he must have been over for a visit

You know fynsdad.... If the Germans actually put a gal that looked like that on the side of their turrets
... no one would shoot the tank it would be sort of blasphemous
Hope you had a great Christmas

PainlessWolf wrote:26th Day: Made some progress tonight on the upper hull. First off I got out the bow .30 cal from Tamiya and tried a test fitment. The hole in the HL ball mount was a tad small but a 3/32 bit gently rotated by hand opened the mount up back to the LED. A test fitment of barrel and shroud looks really good. I will need to visit the local Home Despot for a length of fibre optic to insert to bring the flash to the muzzle of the gun as it is quite long. Next I used a #61 bit in the yankee drill and eyeballed mounting holes for a couple of plastic Pershing hatch handles I had found in Spares. After that was complete, I finished up the night by mounting a couple of Schumo periscope guards on the front hatches over the molded periscopes. (Note that the HL Pershing hatch handles and the Pershing periscope covers by Schumo fit the Sherman hatches exactly. I suspect many of the add-on parts for these two tanks are the same but check to make sure) Pictures:
Very Sharp.... I like the machine gun and the periscope guards...which look better than the thicker versions
Great job painless

PainlessWolf wrote:Good Afternoon,
Thanks for the quick reply, Frynsdad. ;o) I agree on the Mato. One of the very few things I did to it was lightly file the undersides of the hull fittings and accessories. They still look new just not as thick. I will go ahead and keep things as scale as possible on the M4A3, just not as intricate as on the Panther G build I did back in October\November.... Thank you again, Alpha. ;o) Yes, MatoMart can be bedeviling when they wish. They have the capability to carry many more items for their tanks but do not for some byzantine reason.

Byzantine Reason

...that's an interesting way to describe their stocking methods

...but I agree....when I first found them when I started in this New adventure that is RC tankery...they actually had a much larger listing of parts...making me think their new stocking methodology is just like their Q&A system... very machiavellian
Three day sale... if you asked a question...by the time you get a reply the sale is over..which is borderline sadistic

.............
Have a good one Painless

just to add my humble opinion I think its best to oversize so to speak detail, so as not to be lost in paint and is seen more at a distance,
all the etch lines on the hl body behind turret are lost after just one good coat of paint get me drift old chap ?.......[you stop up far to late ].....wot wot .....

Afternoon, CH,
Funny you should mention scale details, I was just asking Frynsdad about this yesterday. This tank is going to get a light coat of primer, some black outlines for carry through of the top coat which will be 2 light coats of olive drab followed by a pinwash. I shouldn't lose any fine detail if I am careful. I'm going for the fresh out of the Repair Depot look with this one. A tank that has seen some use then been gone over and refurbed in a Field Depot. What do you think?
regards,
Painless
