Good lord. You just keep going. Too much work for a friend. You are far too kind to me.

Got a bit more done. The front plate welds are on as are all the little marker lights.
Only bits not on the hull now are the 2 rear tow cable stowage points which I will leave loose so the cable can be draped on the back & secured.
The fuel tank has been crushed & the other fuel tank mounts made ready to accept the wooden ammo box used as a stowage crate.
Hoping to get primer on the hull this weekend.

Wonderful work. I have used this for inspiration to alter mine from standard. Thank you. I can see Mr M, battling his good ladies Challenger with this.

Yep so can I !
Primer is on. Red was all I had but that’s ok.
Green tomorrow over a bit of hairspray.

So, I’ve seen captured BMPs up close. The weathering goes all the way down to red, so hell… maybe some of the export batches were exporter in that color.
Edit:
To be specific, for those interested, they begin at any variation of ‘Sand,’ then break down to a yellow, then a black, and finally a red brown. (Rust everywhere of course.) To be fair, that black -could- have been an older coat of black green.

I have seen the T72 in reference pics in real life when it was at Aberdeen Proving Ground museum before it closed.
I took little notice of it then, but Im confident now its been repainted with its sand/desert yellow livery we see today.
The period picks from the day seem to show Tanks in fairly good condition, sand or suchlike over green with only a few worn patches/chips unless its damaged.
Im surmising that the real Tanks came in standard Russian green into Iraq, then were oversprayed with they sand colour then deployed to units where they may have done a bit more. Like painted the unit I.D. yellow around the barrel etc at the time.
This one is going green soon, then hairspray then the sandy over coat.
The sand colour I am thinking of using a slightly lightened XF-59 with the Vallejo 71.244 Sand Beige as highlighter for some form of modulation.
Then some scraping & chipping using the hairspray removal trick.
Pigments then in a box to the U.S of A

I’m confident that’ll look swell. If they were Polish, as has been alleged, the green may have been a hair brighter, but either way I think they’ll look great!
