Another Russian innovation - heated canisister to mislead Javelin Note all around cope cage.

The Slat or Cage armor was designed as a cost effective way of adding additional stand off armor with low weight for defense from RPGs. I know Slat Armor only works against some RPG hits (some stats say less than 50% effective), but from what I know about ATGMs...it has little if any affect on them. An ATGM has a much larger, heavier projectile which has more kinetic energy. The Javelin is guided by the heat signature and not just a simple heat source so I'm not sure what that thing sticking out of the back of the tank is designed to accomplish.

I get the cope cages as a morale booster in that they bear a semblance of something that might actually work, plus you can dry your jammies on them each morning. The bucket o' diesel on the clothesline pole not so much...
