Blew the eyes out of one of the links.
I have a feeling this might be a bit regular until I can get better tracks.
I thought the Soviets had sorted out their track pins by 1945!
Faust screens are looking great, shame about the thin plastic on the tracks. I can't believe how little there is holding each segment to the next, do they do this deliberately to force you to buy the metal upgrades?

These are the metal upgrades !
Not the normal type I get though, they seem to be low grade metal rather than the real hardcore black steel tracks I usually get.
I got them ages ago & sat on them while other projects got done.
It was pretty authentic seeing the track drop off the idler & get bunched up by the drive wheel.
I will get another set, but these will be fine for now.

Wow, that's a bit rough then.
They look to be slightly different to the metal T-34 tracks I have. Either they've redesigned them since you got them, or they were made by a different manufacturer. I had a look on TankArmy's site to see if the Heng Long metal tracks are any different to the Taigen ones, but it's hard to tell from the photos. I'd assume they're all made in the same factory anyway.

Not sure, but I am certain, they are not the same high quality all my other track sets are.
I am busy doing a bit more weathering and fitting details, so no testing again since the track blow-out.
Have discovered that a MIG filter (Tan for Yellow Green) makes a good dusting wash for the entire tank.
MIG brown for dark green filter makes a good wash to tone down rust effects, and Ochre for grey green makes a good wash for khaki drab on rolled tarps !

Almost calling it. Just got that stupid headlight to do, and add a bit of brick debris here & there in behind the screens and on the guards.
Got the tow cable secured & blended in, very light mud spatter by blowing through a brush with thinned flat earth XF-52.
Spare track links also secured. Drilled through the hull & used dress making pins through the track snow cleat holes to secure them in place.
Did quite a bit of filtering to bring down the rust, and to just close the lot in together really.

Yeah, it's up there with the headlight!
Can be done once I figure out what I'm going to use for it.

Three Options...you can look for one made by aber...use your own fine brass/ aluminum tube use what's remaining of the broken gun and shove it in the end ...you only need a small section ..it will catch the light as well as fiber optic...maybe better...or clear plastic sprue stretched to the correct diameter
