Well, for better or worse, here it is..............
Still a lot to do, including a road trip on Saturday to get the crosses and numbers done.
Cant wait to seal and weather it.

Thank you Mr '88, I hope to get this done in the next week or so.
You're right in saying its not easy to imitate the work done by the real men back in the day, but then, my life doesn't really depend on getting this right eh!, as theirs would have ...........
Thanks again for looking in.

Re: LATE STUG,10PzGREN DIV,MORAVIA 1945
Well, today was indeed "crosses & numbers day"
Began at 0500(so much for a Saturday sleep in ) with the Mrs & girls getting ready for a dance comp.................Lads, I have to say that doing makeup and hair, at 0520, on 2 girls,to dance comp standards, and getting costumes and accouterments into enormous roller-bags that have built in clothes racks and being in a fit state to actually NOT trip over your own sleeping feet like an untrained seal, is JUST AMAZING
All I did was make a coffee, and wait, contemplate my day, and the glory that is new crosses & numbers...................... and then................. "damn, can you please go and put petrol in my car-the warning light is on"
You have to be taking the piss love . Its Saturday at 0530 & yesterday was Friday, daylight, and normal hours for topping up a car
Mmmm, you get the picture, navigating her car in flogging rain with only a sip of coffee in me, like a stunned mullet, to the servo .
(fast forward) im in my car(which was already full of fuel-not that hard now was it
) in the now monsoon'ing rain, with the StuG on board, looking for a feed & a massive coffee to get my act & metabolism in some sort of order.
Got that, did that, and managed to take along chilli-bin full of cooler pads so I could stop in at a butcher on the way to get the meat & bones for the week ( part of what I love about me
) its an hour & a half to his place so it has to be worth the trip .
So, with a gut full of fast junk food & average coffee, a chilli-bin full of meat, and a damp disposition, I rolled into my mates place to begin the mission..................crosses & numbers
It was so damp that his stencils would not stick in place, sure, my luck, why not eh ?
But I STOLE THE DANCE TURBO BLAST HAIR DRIER TOO...........on it went & the hot air soon reactivated the adhesive on the stencil sheets.
The mission went on and Im very happy with the result. And, I must say that the hair drier was a savior but did cause me some mild bruising when that news was announced
Its raining so much here Im having flash backs to N.Z.
Once home I got some white on the hatch insides, which I hate, but a lot of chipping & a wash should fix that.
