HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Lee thank you for your helpful and timely advise,
Fortunately The word had obviously gone round at the factory whose truck it was going to be and so it came out of the box complete with spare springs, a battery, and a cable, and a sheet of paper which looks suspiciously like the menu from our local Chinese takeaway :haha: :haha:
It is now under the workbench complete with a 1/8 R/C De Havilland Mosquito which has been screaming for me to start on it but I have a Tamiya 1/35 PZ4 which must come first, well first is a subjective term in my workshop,
I have been fettling a 1/24 Avro Lancaster for more time than I can think of and my WSN/TORRO M16 is crying out for detailing and contrary to Roy's sage advise I am still searching for a Metal PZ4 hull that if it does not look right can be made to look right so Taigen may yet have my custom,
Stand by for a stream of moans from me and a plethora of "I Told You So's" From Roy,
Ho Hum Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

I think we all suffer with the same modellers curse Shaun of having aspirations of future builds far greater than our spare time schedule's :lolno: my attic room looks like a spare parts depot for a tank factory :haha:

Cheers, Lee.

If you don't have more un-built models and un-finished projects than can be completed in two lifetimes then you're just not doin' it right. @) @) @)

I will go with that brilliant idea from Lee ( as usual Image) for the bows for the cover. I've some spares in my auto parts bits.

Frank, I have one of these on the way, it may be good for a Greyhound but I'm planning one of those 6x6 cars they used to tow cannon.

It is already all over youtube. I find it funny though, that every single one comes in box that looks like it got kicked down a few flights of stairs. lol

Since I started doing videos on modifying these little trucks I've picked up about 50 new subscribers on my YouTube channel.

The existing matador is based on a cheap toy car chassis and is not to proper scale, it is closer to 1/18 and is only 2wd rc with really crappy steering.

The new Matador using the HL chassis and drive gear will be to proper scale and 4wd, just need to extend the wheelbaseby moving the axles and extending the propshaft. :haha: :/

I have most of the stuff I need, just need a 36 hour day!
