Most people who have never seen a Russian tank in the flesh would have no idea how rough the castings are, I think that pic reveals the texture though.
It has been a long build, but you got there in the end, excellent job.

Brilliant work Alwyn


As the owner of a few Russian tanks in 1:16 scale they are my favourites for sure. The rough casting of the turret has been captured in great detail
We have a gun and mantlet from an IS-2 here in Connecticut and it looks as if someone chipped away at it with a jackhammer and somewhat like the surface of the moon it's so rough and irregular looking.

Yeah Mr Turner you certainly captured the essence of the rough & ready Soviet hardware.
Ive seen quite a few types in my travels now and they are all very crude & rough.

Beautiful work, Alwyn. It's amazing how much the surface detail pops once it's all in one colour.
I am now looking forward to your follow-up ISU-152 and IS-3.
