Painless, as you seem determined to make yourself blind working in such fine detail I am going to suggest you fit a set of "AEROMATE" Filler Caps on the engine bay covers, :lolno:
They are in Brass and come with a thread ( I had to contact "AEROMATE" for the size of the thread) so after removing the ABS Blanks you can tap in a thread and screw them in place,
I use one of mine as the access to the"TARR" Smoker refill pipe.
I knew you wanted extra work which is why I offer this to your plan,
Seriously your attention to detail is an absolute knockout.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Good morning, Sass,
In all the years of running my tanks, I've never lost a tool or chain or add-on bit. ( the ocassional HL track return roller which wasn't my fault, the Glue Monkey was asleep on the job the day that Pershing was built ) I put this down to the gel cement I use and going the extra mile to drill and pin fiddly bits. This tank's level of detail falls between Stand Off detail and Show Entry detail. I feel you deserve something better than just gluing on the parts that came in the box and spraying everything Desert Yellow and putting that down to crews in the field with airguns. I remember how you smiled when you came to visit and saw 'Maxene'. That's the reaction I'm looking for when you see this Tiger in the whole for the first time. Definitely run it and have fun outside, it's built for that. ;o) My Tiger will be a Desert version as well, a near twin to yours and sequential Zug numbering would be a fine thing indeed.
regards,
Painless

Good morning, Mr. Jarndice,
I like the idea of using Aeromate parts on a Tiger but think that I will save such detailing for my own. Sass is already leary of running his Tiger much and I don't want to make him any more apprehensive. Detailing has a strange allure. I promise I am using all the tools I can to keep my sight from being affected. You know what they say, "Heaven can be found in the details" Tank Builders have a very odd ( yet as eminently enjoyable as the norm) version of Heaven to strive for.

More work on Step 27 tonight. I had three sets of Tow Cables to work with. Tamiya stock, Schumo and ABER. After a little pondering, I decided to go with a combo of Tamiya/Schumo cables and ABER rear mounts. Tonight saw the cables assembled and the Tamiya mount and rods mostly cleaned up. More work tomorrow. Pics:

More cabling work this evening. I finished adapting the Tamiya rods and mid cable mounts and began on the four rear cable mounts. Next time, I need to micro drill and mount the brass flats on all four of those. I'm pleased with the progress so far. Pics:

You have the whole lot of Schumo AND Aber parts around? For nearly everything? And you still prefer schumo for aber or even Tamiya for both?

Good morning, Gentlemen,
Maxx, thank you! Soeren, when it is called for, I will make a part out of all three of those manufacturers to get a better looking than stock part which is also, the most usable. Thank you, Eddy, your own big cat is really coming along I note. ;o)

Thanks vor the response. Until now I am really impressed and it is, like a lot of the builds here, a wonderful source of ideas. The booklet you have in addition to the Tamiya manual is from the ABER Tiger tank complete kit?
