Then I used two pair of needle nose pliers and bent it into a reasonably scale handle. A measurement and a twist with a #61 and yankee drill for a pilot hole were followed up with a 1\16 bit. A couple of drops of glue and the handle was installed and ready for eventual painting. Pictures:

Good Evening to you too Painless...Thanks for allowing the side bar....My new Sherman hasn't arrived yet... but I'm keeping an eye on both you and canned to pick up details that I might want to incorporate when I do mine ....
Though I do feel a little bad for neglecting my KV2 ... in anticipation of it's arrival ...onward and upward.. the initial project must be finished

23rd Day: Last part arrived in the post. A neat feeling to have all the spare bits in place. Tonight I continued on the lower hull and drilled out the tow mounts all the way around. On the front two I will use the welded strip step. On the back two, standard tow hooks. To that end I did a test fitment after the drilling. It worked out very well. I'll use some plastic card for the front steps one of the upcoming nights here soon. Pictures:

Indeed. I am not sure now how much of it I will use past the barrels and a piece of fibre optic but now that I see it, the gears are turning.

24th Day: I managed to purloin an hour while grilling some chili burgers to make two more handles from brads for the rear deck. I had miscounted the previous evening when toting up how many the tank needed overall. A #61 and a 1\16 again saw places to mount them. A little glue and then back to Christmas Eve. Pictures:

Man Painless... you sure know how to do Christmas Eve...Chili burgers... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... sets me to drooling.... hope none of it got on you Sherman... would make for some unusual weathering
It's good to watch you and Canned work on these Shermans.. you all do things that I never noticed needed to be done... like those handles you've been placing

25th Day: Merry Christmas to all. Today with company, all I had time to do was run through what I was trying to accomplish with building some parts, modding others, and buying what I could not build. The Ex's Hubby had asked me that since I was enthusiastic about the white metal and nickel steel Schumo parts sets. I have some gnarly arthritis in my hands ( and in a couple of my toes I've noticed lately) and have good and bad days. While once I could have built intricate things like the Shumo .50 cal mount and periscope covers, those days are past. He had wondered why I just didn't buy everything premade. To enjoy the Hobby, I might have to do that one day but not today. No pictures tonight. I frittered the day away with this Holiday thing. *chuckles*

OUCH! I know how that pain can be....right after I started my KV build... I caught myself on fire... had a third degree burn on my thumb... still tried my best to get things done... after it healed... I'm not sure if it was because of the way I had taped the thumb up.. I had a flare up of TCS ...but I've learned... even with the pain...to push on.. as nursing it will only prolong the symptoms
So all the little bits you've seen of late.. were done enduring the wound and aftermath..Basically saying I can sympathize with what you have to deal with
You and I must have the same mantra burning inside of us... that would be "Why buy..When it's possible to Make"
