I grew up watching Speed Racer! Every day at 3:00pm I'd sit still for 30 WHOLE minutes and watch Speed and Trixy, Pops, Sprittle, and Chim Chim. I loved that show!

OOH its turned into a car forum...I'm in my element although I have had to give up my fast cars now I still moderate a car related forum, after building custom and classic bikes for years, I then turned to Japanese turbo nutter cars, I'll post up some pics if anyone is interested.

Jack,
I think my (small block) Charger was almost 3400 lbs when built, and the big motor/trans/rear end R/T Chargers were almost 3700 lbs.
Given that mine will be a 440, with the big 9-3/4" rear and 727 trans, plus a bunch of sub-frame bracing I've got for the car, and a roll bar I'm looking at an easy 4,000 lbs, even with the weight I'm saving with fiberglass fenders and hood. The fender braces, subframe braces, and torque boxes are pretty beefy steel, as well as the roll bar. Not paying extra for chromoly so thicker steel will make up my roll bar, heavier. Additionally an 8-71 is a very heavy piece of equipment. I actually used to own an unfinished one off a diesel truck but I sold it years ago. I'll save some weight off the cast engine parts though for certain but again, undoubtedly adding more weight with suspension parts. Even just the cast steel intake and exhaust manifolds weight a ton!

Tricky, sure let's see some pics! I'm fine with my thread as a free for all zone, lol.

I'll update some tank pics later today. Forgot to take pics last night of my work.

Under the hood of both of those!
Amazing machines guys. Oh god, it makes me itch so hard to work on the Charger day and night.

Tank update as promised.
Easy as 1, 2, 3! Still needs work but it's semi-functioning now.
Hmm what's this...? Remember what I said about adding detail parts Herman?
The scale of this hardware is unreal...
Tada!
Thrilled with the fenders, they are much improved over the plastic. Aside from the amazing scale look they are tough and very secure on the body with that hardware. There is no way I'm going to rip those off while driving through the harshest conditions. Bending and wear on those will look perfectly scale and realistic. Worth every minute of modeling!
