jarndice, this is mainly for you and the masses, but can anyone see items that have been missed off the build that you would recommend to get it up to TOTM level. Want this build to be pretty highly detailed, so anything missing please give me a shout, I shall see what I can do.

Thanks all for looking.

It is not just what you have missed off it is what you have still got on the Tank,
Your build has to be after October 1943 because that was when the Pistol Port was removed as well as the Air cleaner system, At the same time the Track Stowage tool box was removed,
If it is November 1943 onward's it should have a Main Gun Travel Lock,
This was removed in late 1944 but your Tiger is certainly earlier than that,
The single piece starting handle on the lower rear panel was replaced by a two piece starting handle that was located adjacent to the radio aerial.
The tow loop needs a pintle pin with retaining chain and the Tiger had in excess of 20 wing nuts on the Tank body many of them being used on the cable clamps as well as the Tool retaining clasps and the barrel cleaning rod clamps.
If you can find a source for them scale padlocks held the hatches on the turret box secure.
But I would be a very happy fellow if my Tiger was as good as yours is right now.

I don't do TOTM but I do like looking at the very high quality of the entrants,
If you do decide to enter your Tiger I suggest you don't be the first Tank in the competition rather you should leave it to the very last minute that way you get to see the competition and if it is too close then leave it to another month until the others are not as good as yours, :lolno:
Good luck finding a month with tanks that are not up to the mark.

Hi there Mr Von, if you look on the more recent pages of my build there is a comparison to the travel lock I built in brass and a cast zinc version from a German EBay suppliers. I have one spare if you would like it . No charge.

Your build has come along very well and that 102nd PzAbt colour scheme on your Tiger is bang on.

While I'm waiting on a few detail parts to arrive I took the wee beastie out in the garden. She did not disappoint. More pics to follow. Image

That Tiger does look nice prowling its territory
I am not seriously suggesting anything BUT you can date a Tiger 1 by the way the Track Cable is laid out on the side of the body,
The pattern constantly changed throughout the types service,
It is one good reason why I discard the plastic part that comes with the Tank and get an ABER version,
My only modification being to the way I form the loops,
I cut a small length of Heat shrink tube slide it down the cable then form the loop and slide the tube over the loose end and heat the tube when the loop is the correct size.
