If you don't mind explaining again..........(I'm slow :haha: )....What were these used for again?

By the way Painless...took a look at my GUP reference guide...took a good gander at the rear fenders...low and behold those indentations to accommodate the lights are there :O ...just a little hard so see as most of the book is illustrated ;) ...Thanks for bringing that detail to bear :D
Makes me wonder if they are supposed to be on the PanzerIII too :shifty:

Alpha,
Good morning. I should have taken a pic of the Stix in use. ;o) It helped me hold the tiny brass squares I used on the front fender stays in place until the Gel glue set. I rotated the head of the Stix then and it released without tugging on the part. With something so small, I usually end up gluing my fingers or tweezers to the part so these are a huge help. Alpha, It looks like the Panzer IIIs ( at least some of them ) had these altered rear fenders as well. HL and Taigen should have molded the deck fenders with them already in place. http://freespace.virgin.net/w.oliver/im ... 20rear.jpg

Well I'm going to stay away from that detail on mine...just because of that "Stuck Finger Syndrome" :haha: ...it really does add to the detail of the front end though...thing is certain tiny parts I tend to stray away from... My L70 took 3 two foot headers :| ...luckily there was very minor damage...the small parts that did get dislodged...where the brackets that hold the rear shields...just like those parts you just installed..were very tricky to replace without taking the entire shield off.. did it though and all is solid again...That tank has been through more rough treatment that usual...but I have to say..the entire structure is very strong

Thanks for the picture...I guess the IIIs did have those indents ...will keep that in mind when I redo my PanzerIII ;) ...It does make you wonder why any of the Manufacturers overlooked that detail ...on the real deal you really can't miss them

Carpe Diem SirImage

Nothing StuG related in the Post today ( A _huge_ box of Stuart stuff did come in from Sassgrunt for the coming Stuart build. Looking forward to opening that ;o) so I looked at the next bit of Deck detail. On the 1/35 Tamiya model, the rear tow cables are draped, artfully, just so... and look terrific! Mato's version of those cables are made of braided adamantium apparently and had enough torque when looped to shear off two of the mounting pins cast onto the cable clamps. Some cursing and drilling and pinning later, Pictures:

The cables sure do look as you say - just so. The layout on the H/L PzIII is similar. Almost a shame to cover them with stowage !
I still have a StuG III to do, seems the poor thing keeps getting pushed back, but it will have plenty of deck stowage & cables that are in the ready use position.
So sunshine............whats in the big box
