I'll be there, should have some quality buildings by then, and I've repainted the tree base that was looking a bit the worse for wear, and I'll bring the Tiger from Hell as well.

Sorry about the tree base. I'll try to make sure my Tiger does not run away this time. Looking forward to seeing your new buildings.

No worries, I fully expect things to get knocked about, I am slowly learning how to make indestructible scenery.

Sunday 7th August

Ok, I have the forms for the Thornbury Show. Like last year I am intending to ask for ten passes, so if you are coming then let me know. If there are more than ten I will see if I can get more passes. I will ask if we can have a larger battlefield, and maybe a corner site? I know that there are attendees who aren't on the forums, so if someone can make contact with them that would be good. I will need to know numbers within a couple of weeks. Anyone attending will need to be there by 8am as we need to set up the battlefield. They supply the flooring, trestles and chairs, all that you need to bring is your tanks (as many as possible) and scenery. Refreshments are available in the catering hall, though you can of course bring sandwiches and a flask.

They made a quality video last year, it features the club, and our set up. It's a huge show, very professional, and our display attracted a lot of interest.

Just watched the video. As I would expect, there are some phenomenal models there.

Yet again another reason for NOT looking at other peoples models,
I stand back after spending more time and money than I can afford looking in admiration at the "final" result thinking beat that,
And of course every man, Woman and their dog do just that
Still in a certain light I think green suits me.

There is some truly stunning small scale modelling on display. Two that I recall are diorama's of a landing craft with the troops running out, and Pont du Hoc in micro scale with the cliffs, landing craft and what looked like a hundred troops in a beach onslaught, scaling the cliffs etc. I look at what these guys can do and pray that they don't come and look at my ropey offerings! lolol.

I am devoting some time to making some decent scenery in 1/16, it's a pain as it has to be so large, but it will improve with practice.
